Art Project Outreach
Funded Nov 23, 2016This was perhaps one of my favorite projects ever. As an educator, I believe that it is my job to provide opportunities to make the classroom a mirror, a window, and on special occasions a sliding glass door. I want students to see themselves as learners and important members of our world: the mirror. I also want to provide opportunities where students have their eyes opened to the great wide world and its beauty: the window. But with this unique project and your support, I was able to create a sliding glass door where students could make a positive impact on the world around them.
I contacted area hospitals that accepted our Brave Bots and are distributing them to patients who could use an extra reminder of how brave they truly are and how much they are loved.
Thank you so much for empowering our young learners to be the positive change we need in the world.”

Flexible Seating Take Two
Funded Oct 23, 2016Thank you so very much for the Hokki stool, rockers, and pillows! The students LOVE them! I have noticed a positive shift from "my works is my own" to "we learn together". Students are able to choose where they sit to collaborate with their peers. They are asked to find a spot where they learn best. I have students who choose a quiet spot to read and write while other students choose to sit together and share ideas.
My students love having a choice in where they sit and learn and I am elated about their attitude towards learning. Thank you so much for helping create a mind shift in my students by purchasing the seating that empowers them to be responsible and comfortable while they read, write, balance equations, and discuss important ideas!
Thank you from the bottom of my very happy teacher heart!”

An iPad for Robotic Learning
Funded Aug 25, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so very much for the iPad. Our students are enjoying using the iPad to learn about coding. It truly amazes me how my amazing first graders can use technology to truly integrate their learning. It is my goal to inspire students to ask questions and find the answers. Having this technology allows them to dream in ways that I never could imagine.
Thank you so much for giving to them and widening their horizons. They are using advanced Ozobot apps and will begin using Scratch Jr. soon.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Funded Jul 8, 2016Dear Donors,
Thank you so very much for the technology you provided for our young learners! They LOVE the Ozobots, Dot and Dash, and the Makey Makey. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly students are able to learn and test the limits of new technology.
We have used our new Ozobots in reading, math, as well as social studies and science. Our latest project was to create a timeline using facts about a famous person that we researched. Students then dressed the Ozobots up as the famous person and coded the timeline to show what they learned. We are so grateful and inspired by your donation!”

Flexible Seating for Learning Success
Funded Jul 8, 2016Thank you so much! My students LOVE the "comfy chairs" and reading bench that your donation provided! The students are truly benefiting from the option of alternative seating! The students look forward to choosing a seat that best helps them learn! I have noticed an increase in time spent reading and being engaged in stories. They are comfortable while reading and learning. Thank you so much for your donation and your support of our fantastic first graders. They are learning and growing into global citizens who love learning!”

Coding for the Future: Full STEAM Ahead
Funded Dec 30, 2015Thank you so much! Our Spheros arrived and the students LOVE learning with them. Working in teams of 4, my amazing first grade students created a piece of movement art where the Spheros interacted in a symmetrical manner. We used a Draw and Drive app on our iPads. Thank you for helping to provide the materials. They were able to use the technology and taught me and their peers!
The donations to this project helped enhance my students' love for learning. The Spheros introduced them to the world of coding, programming, and visual and musical arts. We used the Sphero project and then launched into Code.org, Scratch Jr. and now we are using Ozobots.
Thank you SO MUCH for helping open the doors of computer science for my amazing students! They love learning and I love teaching them!”

Funded Mar 1, 2014We had "snow" much fun designing and testing our snowball catapults! All of our amazing second grade students had the opportunity to team up and use what they learned to create a catapult that would launch a snowball the furthest. We then took the catapult design that went the furthest from each classroom and had a catapult competition between the four classes.
The winner's snowball traveled 71 inches. The students learned so much from the collaboration process. They enjoyed working together to fling a snowball the furthest.
Thank you so much for your donation and investment into such a fun and meaningful learning activity. Without you, this project would not have been possible.”

Project Based Polar Regions
Funded Dec 30, 2013Thank you so very much for providing materials to help my students express their learning creatively! My students eagerly researched the Polar Regions knowing that they were able to choose a creative activity to demonstrate what they learned. Their eyes lit up when we unpacked the glitter, canvases, paint, and animal figures. I loved the excitement that filled the air when all of my students were actively engaged in something that mattered the them. I also loved how their projects sparked conversations and true praise from their peers.
I am also happy to report that several of our Arctic paintings will be on display at the corporation office! The students are thrilled (and so am I).
Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students and I are eager to use the left over paint and glitter to add the spark of creativity to other learning projects!”

iPad for Project Based Learning
Funded Nov 3, 2013We LOVE the iPad! My students were so excited to be able to use the iPad during math and reading classes. We were able to play learning games and use fun, educational apps. We also used the iPad to do research during science class. Thank you so much for supporting our students by providing the technology we needed to make learning fun! Our students need the experience using technology. Using the iPad helps develop essential critical-thinking skills that they need during their educational career and beyond.
Thank you for supporting our classroom and our amazing students!”

Healthy Foods for a Healthy Me
Funded Oct 30, 2013Our students were so excited when the iPad and books arrived! Christmas came early! Thank you for supporting our classroom and allowing our students to use the iPad and the nutrition books to enhance their learning experiences.
We use the iPad daily. Students are able to use math and language arts apps and games to help develop critical thinking skills. They beg to use the iPad. It is so encouraging to see the excitement and the love for learning. We certainly appreciate your help in receiving these materials. It has made our classroom a very exciting place to learn!”
