Math Magic
Funded Mar 19, 2017Thank you so very much for the math games! The addition of the new math games has transformed our math learning time! The children learn the games with parent volunteers and then are able to play them during our amazing math workshop time! The tubs have helped to keep the materials (and me) organized! The students are learning to play together and think critically!
This class enjoys the code Little Code breaker game! They have learned to think several steps ahead and have also learned to preserve! The skills of cooperation and critical thinking are crucial for a successful learning career!”

Beautiful Bountiful Books
Funded Apr 28, 2017My students are thriving readers! Why? Because they have the LOVE of reading and the right materials to read! I teach a diverse group of learners. Some students are already reading chapter books while other students need books with more of a phonics pattern. It is difficult to keep the library stocked and organized with titles that everyone can read.
Thanks to your generous donation my student can choose a book that they can read and they are able to find a quiet spot to enjoy the book! I organized my library with blue bins that hold fiction and red bins that hold non-fiction text. My students now have a better understanding of fiction and non-fiction because of the tubs you provided.”

Whole Wide World
Funded Apr 28, 2017The students were so excited to see the maps, globes, and books! We sang our continent song, used the globes to model the solar eclipse, and read the awesome stories about the traveling children! My students loved looking at the map for places they visited and scouting out their future adventures! Thank you so much for supporting our project and providing the much needed materials! My classroom is a better place because of your generosity! Thank you for helping our students learn about the wonderful and wide world!”

Wiggly World Changers
Funded Mar 14, 2017My students love using the Hokki stools! I truly believe that young children need to move while learning. They love using the stools during reading time. The stools are light and portable so the students can move them to a quiet spot. During math problem solving time, students take the stools and sit together to collaborate.
I allow the students to use them during carpet and calendar time. They share the stools (which is difficult some days) but they are learning how to take turns.
Thank you so much for helping to create an enjoyable learning atmosphere where students love learning!”

Mensa for Kids Excellence in Reading Program
Funded Dec 13, 2016Thank you so much for providing these timeless classics for our young readers! My students enjoyed Tikki Tikki Tembo, Ferdinand, and Blueberries for Sal. I loved reading theses stories to my students. I remember reading them when I was little! We loved Peter Rabbit. Many of my students had not heard of Peter or Mr. McGregor! Our kindergarten and second grade students are also using the Mensa program after they saw this project funded. Your donation inspired our entire school and over 300 students! Thank you for making such an amazing impact in the lives of our students.”

You Know, Osmo!
Funded Dec 27, 2016My students LOVE the Osmo! I have the pads and Osmo's set up as a center for both reading and math. They enjoy using The word tiles to play picture and spelling guessing games. Tangram is an Osmo game that is changing how they see and manipulate objects. I have seen a fantastic improvement in their visual perception skills. They also love Numbers and are learning to combine digits to make equations and save digital fish. The students truly enjoy learning with the Osmo games. The Osmo's really give me a chance to work with students in small groups while the students are engaged in learning with Osmo.”

iPads to Link Home and School
Funded Dec 26, 2016SeeSaw is a window into our classroom. The students take photographs and video of their learning experiences and then publish them on the SeeSaw app for the parents to rate and review. So many of my students use the SeeSaw app to show parents what they are learning in school. The parents who are connected with the app enjoy having this small window into our school day. They are able to ask their children thought provoking questions and see how they are doing with skills and standards. I love the open line of communication to help link home and school.
Thank you so much for your donation and the gift of connectedness in my classroom.”

Funded Dec 27, 2016I always ask my students to rate and review their favorite learning activities. I want them to learn and I want them to have a say in how they learn. Time and time again, math workshop is a favorite. They LOVE using the math tools that you donated to them. They love the timers, dice, worms, and tools that help them get the most out of their mathematical learning.
My students love seeing that math and learning is not just a part of the school day but a part of their lives. Thank you for providing tools that help students make sense of the math world around them.”

We Are Art Smart!
Funded Dec 21, 2016We LOVE the art materials and books! The students are thrilled to paint, glitter, and glue in the styles of their favorite artists and illustrators! I love having the resources now to support the artist in all of my students!
I love how my students now notice and note the small yet significant details that illustrators use to help the author tell the story. My students have opened their eyes to not only seeing the details but now creating the details that help to tell a story. Having the paint, paper, glitter, and clay has created learning opportunities that will stick with each child throughout their lifetime.
Thank you for having such a positive impact on the lives of these young (and talented) artists!”

Osmo for Confident Learning
Funded Dec 12, 2016The students BEG to play Osmo during math workshop time. They use the iPad Osmo attachments (mirror and base) and manipulate tiles and numbers to play games. Since we received the Osmo kits, the students have improved their visual perceptual skills. They have also developed a deeper understanding of teamwork. They work together to solve the riddles and puzzles. I am so grateful to have these materials, as I believe they support both right and left brain development as well as fostering important social skills.
Thank you so much for helping our students learn and grow!”
