  • Growth Mindset Mentor Texts

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Thank you so much for providing these amazing texts for my students! We have learned so much from these mentor texts. Students are able to have fantastic discussions regarding the characters' choices. We love reading the books about mistakes. We learned that chocolate chip cookies were created because someone made a delicious mistake! These texts give us a chance to discuss persistence. We talk about learning from mistakes. We have learned the power of not knowing something "yet". I am so proud of the growth of my students and their tenacity while learning. Thank you again for supporting this project and these amazing students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hobaugh

  • Robots Rule!

    Funded Aug 23, 2017

We love using the Edison robots to investigate and learn about robotics! The students were able to use the Edison robots along with the Ozobots. We observed how they moved and how they responded to light and sound.

In school, we are working on becoming creative, curious, and collaborative. These robots gave our amazing students the chance to be curious and ask questions. They collaborated and shared ideas and came up with new things to try. I continue to be impressed by their boundless creative ideas! Thank you for helping us get these materials so we can develop skills that help they learn and achieve!”

  • Gingerbread Architects

    Funded Oct 30, 2017

Thank you so much for making this project come to life! My students LOVED learning about and designing for our client, the Gingerbread Baby. They thought of features our client would love. Students then planned and budgeted for needed supplies.

The students did a phenomenal job collaborating! They worked together to buy the supplies they needed the most! They also learned to be creative when their first idea didn't turn out the way they wanted. I am so proud of them! Thank you so much for donating to this project! My students and I learned so much! Learning is fun!”

  • Books for Leaders: Fill Every Shelf

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

My students have learned so much by reading and researching these biographies. Thank you for supporting our students and providing these fantastic books to help my students learn about the lives of others. A group of students who read Helen Keller's biography became so interested in Braille that they requested to see Braille books. Thanks to the local deaf/blind school and the help of a friend, we now have magazines in Braille for the students to analyze. This caused my students to then see and realize that Braille is actually all around them. They found Braille in the signage in school, at libraries and doctor's offices.

I have a student who is an avid baseball fan. He picked up the Jackie Robinson and he was shocked at the amount of adversity he faced. We were able to have a fantastic discussion about the importance of treating people they way we want to be treated.

Thank you for help my amazing group of readers become leaders by exposing them to the lives and ideas of others! We want to learn to respect different viewpoints and emulate great ideas that unify us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hobaugh

  • Cozy Up and Read

    Funded Sep 21, 2017

Thank you so much for providing high-interest books to fill our classroom library! The Bad Guys in Attack of the Zittens is the most popular book in the library! My amazing readers are reading and rating the new books. I love it when students can read and then recommend books to others. It is the perfect way to check for understanding! I love hearing the giggles come from our library when students are engaged and enjoying reading!

The students love the reading bench. They stretch out with their book box. The Amelia Bedelia Chapter Books arrived at the perfect time. I have so many readers ready for a great chapter book with a familiar character.

Thank you so much for supporting my students as they discover the magical world of reading!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hobaugh

  • Number Sense Know-How

    Funded Sep 23, 2017

Thank you so much for the math materials! We are able to have a counting station now! The materials have helped my classroom and other classrooms in our school! My students and I were able to learn and use the number sense materials. We then were able to share our materials and more importantly we were able to share our understanding of number sense with other classes. The students now have a foundation for financial literacy. They understand that numbers have a meaning and how relationship between these numbers are translated to money concepts.

Thank you so much for supporting my students! I am excited to work with people and companies that value the education of our children. They need financial skills to help them navigate and create their future!”

  • Cold Case Reading

    Funded Sep 22, 2017

The students LOVED reading the mystery books and writing clues with their Top Secret notebooks! Thank you so much for funding this project and giving students the chance to be reading detectives! We were able to practice our deductive reasoning skills! Students wrote down all the clues and learned to not jump to conclusions when finding the solution!

The students loved reading with their fake mustaches! Thank you so much for investing in their love of learning! When students love reading, we all succeed!

    Thank you so much!”

  • Super Senses

    Funded Jul 7, 2017

Thank you so very much for the Super Senses kit! My students used lenses and prisms to create images and colors and explored depth perception. We experimenting with tuning forks and tested our noses with sensory boxes. Students distinguished textures by feel and tested sensitivity to touch and temperature changes. They identified objects in odor boxes by smell and mapped the four taste areas of their tongues.

The students learned about their senses and are now able to apply the knowledge about their senses to their reading, writing, and everyday life! Thank you so much for your generous donation!”

  • STEM Kits for Creative Kids

    Funded Sep 20, 2017

My students LOVE the STEM bins. They enjoyed designing and building houses, and chain reactions. They amazed me with the unique creation they invented. I had them write a How-To paragraph that went with their creation. The STEM kits helped my students work collaboratively. Their favorite part was the STEM chain reaction kit. The students persevered and created a chain reaction after several tries. They set up the machine and then tested. I loved watching their faces as they collaboratively problem solved. I am so proud of them! We use the materials daily and the students are so grateful! Thank you!”

  • Word Work

    Funded Mar 19, 2017

Thank you so very much for the materials to help in our word work station. The children continue to love the smelly markers, stamps, and letter tiles! We use them daily. I am able to challenge the students who need a challenge and help those who need more spelling instruction by having the materials for our "Word Work Tubs".

Thank you so much for your support and help in creating an innovative learning environment where students feel empowered to learn. My students look forward to coming to school so they can become the best readers, writers, and mathematicians that they can be! Thank you for supporting them in their learning journey!”
