I teach four blocks of 7th grade English/Language Arts (ELA). With a large portion of our student population coming low-socioeconomic status homes, many students come to school without basic supplies (let alone books to read that interest them). Because of this, part of a successful ELA program includes furnishing teachers with high-interest books within their classrooms, as well as other resources, to continue fostering students' reading interests.
