  • Running a Photography Business: Say Cheese!

    Funded Oct 26, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you for the camera, backdrops, tripod, and photography accessories. We have already started using all of the items because we are in the process of creating commercials for our mock photography business. We will be incorporating still shots within our commercials that advertise the quality of our picture taking. The camera donated takes very clear shots and allows you take close up pictures and fade the background out. We love it!

Your donations have allowed my class to do more than we can imagine. With the different backdrops, we can offer more to our student clients. We enjoy be able to build props with the backdrops also.

Thank you again for your generous donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Towns

  • Creative Business Cards

    Funded Aug 4, 2016

Thank you for providing my class with glue, card stock, special scissors, and all of the other items to create modern day business cards. My teacher taught the class first how to design business cards using Desktop Publisher. We created business cards about ourselves. She then taught us how to use the computer and our crafty hands to create modern day business cards. This time we got to choose a mock business to design our cards about. We also made card covers out of the stock paper to put our cards in. I really enjoyed this project because I got to be able to use my creativity and put some nice elements onto my card. Everyone had great cards in which our teacher put on display.”

    Ms. Towns

  • Robotics and Coding

    Funded May 18, 2016

Thank you for donating the Ozbots and the coding game to our class. We had a fun time trying to program them and make them move. It took us a minute to learn how to get the Ozbots to move from our tablet, but after programming them our class was able to get them to turn and move. We were put in groups of 3s and were given an Ozbot. Our teacher gave us directions on how to program and we as a group figured it out. Our teacher turned down the lights so we could watch them move on our table stands first. The Ozbots light up and turn colors. Then she allowed us to put them on our rug and when she saw that we could correctly move them, she allowed us to control them on the floor. This was so sun. I love coding! I love robots! Thank you.”

  • Video DVD Yearbook

    Funded Aug 28, 2016

Thank you for donating the Camcorder to our class.

Our class has been using the Camcorder to create a school DVD yearbook. Although the project is still going on, we have planned our groups out and are currently recording special events taking place during and after school. Sometimes we go around the school and record our friends in the classroom and our teachers teaching. Other times we record students goofing off or going about their normal day.

We have been learning how to edit videos along with pictures. So far we have created several pieces that we are going to place in the online yearbook. The camcorder has also allowed us record live footage of school events and extracurricular activities, such as, the football games, our Rammettes performing, and Spirit Week. Our students will really love to see those parts.

Thank you again for your donation.”

  • Running a Photography Business

    Funded Aug 26, 2016

Thank you for donating the photography backdrops, rugs, and seating props to help my class jump start our school's first business. My teacher wants us to not only learn how to run a business, but to learn different skills for different types of careers. So not only are we learning how to run a business through writing a business plan, but we are learning how to run a photography business hands on.

We have set up our studio, but we need nice rugs and props to have for picture taking. We are currently focusing on all aspects of a photography studio, such as, where should our sit, what is the best placement for the photography backdrops, what documents need to be created for the business, and what packages and services should we offer.

We re excited about every donation you have made because we can now take fabulous pictures and have a variety of props and backgrounds to use.

Overall, The items donated help provide my class with the resources to actually take pictures. This is just another fun project that my class and I are getting to do.”

  • Writing and Illustrating Our First Superhero Story

    Funded Mar 24, 2016

Thank you for donating the scanner and camera to help my team and class create and complete our online Superhero story. The process to writing our story and creating our Superhero story took time, but it was fun. My team and I are so proud of how our first online book came out.

The items donated helped our team to edit and add pieces to our story. The scanner allowed my team members to scan and upload items into our PowerPoint presentation for our story, such as, different Superheros that my team created. My team used the camera to take pictures of items that we could not find or use from the Internet. We uploaded those pictures as backgrounds to our PowerPoint. Once we got done with the writing and illustration of our book on PowerPoint, we went to a free online 2.0 web tool and flipped our PowerPoint presentations into an online book. Now all of my friends and family can read our story.

Our class enjoyed the assignment, and now our teacher has our class researching and creating an online family tree. We have been bringing in pictures and scanning them to our U-drive and she has allowed us to take updated pictures of ourselves using the camera. This is just another fun project that my class and I are getting to do.

Our class would like to say Thank You!”
