The guitars and ukuleles will help the students become rock-stars and express themselves musically, and demonstrate what they've learned in class so far. So far students have learned music theory in class so far. We have learned how to identify, notate, and write note names on the musical staff, rhythm, and have learned how to play and create a couple of chords on the piano.
To better the students' musical experience in the classroom, I would like the students to have an instrument in their hands and play songs, and melodies rather than just listen to, talk about them or clap them. With the help of these instruments, students will be able to play alone, in duets, small ensembles, or as a class.
The school owns a couple of guitars and some ukuleles, but not enough for an entire class to play or even share. With your help we can have the entire class choose an instrument to play on.
