I have a class made up of amazing and unique first graders. This is high poverty area where most if not all students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch. In most schools it would be easy to ask parents for supplies like pencils and erasers, here it is a little more difficult. My students work hard and are extremely supportive of one another. We share the few supplies that we have with each other but sometimes struggle to do so. All we need is a little support and supplies!!
