Wiggle, Wobble, Work!
Funded Oct 4, 2019I want to thank you again for your generous contribution to our classroom community! My students were thrilled to see the wobble stools and bouncy bands on a Monday morning! I have three sets of students, each group reacted a little different! Some reactions ranged from "WOW, that's so cool!" to "Can I take this home with me?!".
Most importantly, I have noticed an increased amount of focus in my students. Behavior has improved as well. We have a limited amount of time together, so the students have to stay focused! When we work, I often survey the room and see lots of little feet bouncing with the bands. Many of my shorter students now have a comfortable place to rest their feet when they are sitting as well.
The wobble stools are by far the crowd favorite. The stools are used at my small group table for students who need more help. Those same students also usually need more wiggle time. Students are thrilled to have to come to the table to work because they know that in addition to the help they receive from me, they can wiggle and learn simultaneously!
Your generosity is greatly appreciated!”

Funded May 6, 2019Your donation has impacted our learning environment greatly already! When we have intervention time, I am able to tailor every single intervention to meet the needs of my students! I have begun to create video lesson on our computers, and because of the headphones, the students are able to remain completely focused and engaged in their task!
The headphones are exciting because they each have their own personal pair! I am able to teach them responsibility and show them how to properly care for the headphones! Many students do not have access to their own devices, let alone their own set of headphones!
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! We have added a new layer of learning to our classroom!”

Funded Oct 10, 2018I would like to take the time to sincerely thank you for your generosity! When I consider all of the ways I can impact my students, technology is one major piece! We are living in an era where tech rules and all other things come after! My students have thoroughly enjoyed being able to flex their tech muscles this year! We spend a lot of time engaged in our learning on paper. Having technology allows us to "Show what we know on the big screen"!
My students are loving having a document camera! They are owning the process of using it. The chance to be the "exemplar" is an incredible experience! This camera has built confidence in my students. They are encouraged to work their best, not only because "they should", but also because they can share their greatness with their peers. I have students who are not always the most confident about their abilities, but when prompted with the idea of taking control of the camera, they jump at the chance!
This donation has provided my students with an invaluable experiences. I am able to show them maps and reading passages up close and personal. So many light bulbs have gone off above their sweet heads with this new addition to our classroom. You have truly made our learning more enjoyable and student led. Thank you, from the bottom of my (and my amazing students) heart!”

Funded Nov 22, 2016My students and I are so grateful for your generosity! Many of the students in our classroom do not have access to technology or internet) outside of school. Moreover, our classroom is not one brimming with technology. Prior to this donors choose project, we had two working computers for a total of 25 students. Having this technology has allowed our class to explore in ways that they did not know possible!
The students love the opportunity to choose (from a pre-selected menu) what "games" they can play during individual literacy and math time. When I am working with student in a small group, the ipads are floating around the room. Students love to access sites that read books to them (hearing fluent reading is SO IMPORTANT!), battling one another in a "Math Fight" and watching some of their favorite educational videos online!
One student in particular is one sweet girl who started the year only knowing the word mommy. Presently, she is able to communicate basic things with her peers and read sight-word stories. When she uses the ipad, she often listens to fluent reading and works hard to mimic and take in what she is hearing! It is an exciting time in our classroom, for that reason alone! While she cannot write, she can recognize and type letters - something we practice on the ipad.
There are not enough words to explain how much the donation has helped our class! Socially, we are learning to become better at sharing and negotiating with one another, in addition to the academic benefits. We are able to explore and grow individually and as a class because of it! Please know that you have some lifetime supporters in this classroom because of your impact! WE ARE THANKFUL!”

Ms. Johnson
