I will be co-teaching 60 fourth grade students from a low socioeconomical neighborhood in the Bronx. In my class I have an ELL population and low level students, since September 2011 and the school adopting the Common Core State Standards , I am trying to prepare my students for the future and to be college and career ready.
My students are preparing to learn the foundational skills needed to read, write, listen, and speak that prepare students on their continuous academic journey to become College and Career Ready. Many of my students have various reading and writing levels and have different learning disabilities that I have to address, and I would like them to have a place to organize their folders, notebooks and journals. This will provide the foundation my 4th graders need to become life long readers and writers.
