Families in our community struggle everyday to give their children the essentials for school. For the students who decide to join a sport, like our wrestlers, it's even more difficult to get their basic equipment needed to keep their sport safe. The girls on our team face yet another obstacle. They have a difficult time purchasing their equipment due to lack of family support. The stigma of playing in a predominantly all-boy sport is still prevalent in their latino culture and in some of their families.
