Readers Gonna Read
Funded Sep 10, 2018I am ecstatic that this project has been funded! I can't wait to have so many brand new books to share with my students. I feel blessed to have a community who supports the learning and enrichment of all students, regardless of ability level. Thank you for your help in providing my students with new books for our library!”

Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity in helping me fund this project for my students! The impact of engaging and meaningful literacy instruction is incredible. My students are participating in reading unlike they were ever able to before, and that is all thanks to you!
I have witnessed growth in so many students through the use of engaging adapted books that I have been able to create with our new materials. I was even amazed to learn a student, whom we believed was only able to identify single letters, was actually able to read words and short phrases. He was only able to demonstrate this skill with the support of adapted books, and I am so grateful to you all for helping him show his skills in literacy!
As we move forward with the end of the school year, students are continuing to access adapted literacy materials with the supplies you helped us get. They are learning about the environment, numerous life cycles, the Olympics (as we prepare for Special Olympics in the coming month), and I have even begun to prepare reading materials for next school year on topics of government, the ecosystem, and landforms. I can't wait to see how these resources continue to transform literacy instruction in my classroom!
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity!”

Funded Aug 23, 2017I am so excited to report the incredible impact your donation has had on my students! Students now have the opportunity to visit our sensory room two scheduled times each day and can choose to visit more frequently as a reward for working or when I notice they may need a sensory break. Their favorite item from this project by far is the water panel bubble wall that lights up the sensory room in soft, rainbow colors with a mesmerizing flow of bubbles. It is the perfect tool to help both soothe and engage my students! We use all of our new sensory tools daily. Students explore the sparkly squidgy letters, numbers, and shapes on our light board in the sensory room as well as in their daily centers. The wobble chair has increased engagement for a number of my students, and I hope to get a class set soon! Our parachute is great for rainy days, and has helped make extra time indoors a little less disappointing.
Thank you so much for your support of me, my students, and my classroom. I am so grateful to have a community who supports the unique needs of my students!”

Jumpstart Our Learning! Structured Activities for AU Student
Funded Feb 17, 2016Thank you for your generous contributions to my class! My students have loved learning new skills through the items purchased with your help! New materials not only help grow skills, but also teach flexibility and generalization of developing skills.
Writing has never been easier with our new writing center. Students are able to independently form sentences in a structured way, growing their skill and vocabulary! This independence allows my students to practice writing daily, a skill that we previously were only able to work on a few days a week.
Vocabulary is also growing through daily word work at our sight word center, where students can read, build, and write their sight words with the magnetic letters from this project! This center reinforces our weekly sight words and reinforces strong reading skills that are practiced during our literacy block.
My students have also benefited from increased variety for their daily work tasks for literacy and math. Counting is more fun when you practice by unlocking cool number locks! Students developing reading skills--but who are not yet readers--are able to practice new CVC words through word-building puzzles. Finally, my concrete learners are able to reinforce basic letter and number identification skills through number and letter puzzle sets.
Thank you so much for your donation to help our classroom grow! My students and I are incredibly grateful for your generosity to help grow our brains!”

Funded May 18, 2016Thank you for your generous contribution to my classroom project! My students are so incredibly grateful for the new space they have thanks to the tables you helped fund! My students are better able to share space during group work and center activities. The new tables are just their size--not too short like our former tables that always bumped their knees! Having a kidney table during group instruction has been incredibly helpful for me to reach each individual student to aid in engagement and participation. The flower table is excellent for students who need extra support to remain in their designated areas for the completion of an activity. My students love their new tables and we cannot thank you enough for your help!”
