Hooked on Reading English

Thank you so very much for the donation you gave me that allowed me to get the leveled reading library for my classroom. My students were so excited to have new books to read on their reading level. My students were so excited when we opened up the box of brand new books they grabbed at them as fast as they could. Second graders, Sarah, Rabee and Solomane all jumped up to grab at the same book! Then they decided to sit down and read it together.

It was so wonderful to have nonfiction and fiction texts of their interest for them to explore. My students enjoy curling up on the carpet with a cozy pillow as they dive into the new book during independent reading time. Every day when Chris comes into my classroom he grabs his level J books and sits down in the corner excitedly to read them.

We have also really enjoyed the read-alouds that came with the set as well. My first graders loved The Not So Narwhal by Jessie Sima; a book they really enjoyed, because it got them to use their imaginations as they looked at the beautiful rainbow illustrations
