Funded Aug 3, 2019This easel has made a huge difference in our classroom learning environment. The visual material is more accessible for all learners. The easel is the centerpiece of instruction in our classroom! The students know how to easily locate directions, examples, and visuals by looking to the easel. We are grateful for the generous donation to our classroom. We use it every single day in math, reading and writing! Each side is utilized and the storage allows for a more organized classroom space. We love our easel and students for years to come will benefit from your donation as well!”

Funded Jun 26, 2018In the short few weeks that we have been back to school, iPads have expanded the possibilities of our learning. With classroom iPads we have been able to listen to stories read aloud and learn exciting new information without the demand of decoding letter-by-letter, word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence. Many of my students this year are learning English as a second language and they are able to use features like predictive text and text to speech as supports. I have animal research projects planned in the upcoming months and we will be taking pictures of animals and insects we see in nature and creating informational text with captions using our new iPads. We are always excited to explore reading applications that have endless options for books at high interest levels. Thank you again for your generous contribution. It is changing the way we learn in second grade!”

We Like to Move It Move It!
Funded Jul 17, 2018In the first six weeks of school, students are busy learning rituals and routines, getting to know one another and getting to know more about themselves. We have begun our journey into flexible seating and trying out our different options for sitting in a "smart seat". We have done the "Goldilocks" test of our wobble stools, bean bag chairs, floor seats and balance balls! Students have already found which flexible seating option is their "just right" alternative to the traditional desk and chair. Having choice and comfort during a very structured day allows students to focus their attention and learn more openly. I have already seen the benefits shine through in their writing block. Students are already writing for longer periods of time! Thank you again for supporting our classroom.”
