Hands-on activities will help students form a deeper connection withr historical influences on American Sign Language, historical persons who assisted with the growth of sign language and education for the Deaf, identify and describe words, concepts, and acronyms associated with deafness, understand and explain basic ASL manual alphabet, numbers, and conversational signing. By donating to my classroom, students will have the ability to learn through a wide range of activities. The board games (done silently) allow students to practice spacial awareness. A video lab will help students monitor their development in ASL including exchange and present simple information in American Sign Language, comprehend signed information and non-manual markers to understand simple messages in American Sign Language.
