Podcast To The Globe
Funded Jan 28, 2012Thank you all very much for your interest in helping our school reach a global audience. Our school is having trouble funding anything beyond basic necessities, so your contribution in helping our podcasting means even more in light of the financial hardships we're fighting against.
Our students need to see that the lessons and work completed at school has an impact beyond the four walls of the classroom. Your collective kindness has made that a possibility. Students are so excited that they may be able to share with family members or with friends the work they are doing in class. The donation has made this all possible, and the students are most definitely benefiting.
It takes truly caring individuals to make a difference. Thank you all for making that difference for us.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Diaz

Funded Jan 20, 2012Thank you from the bottom of or hearts for your contribution of texts to our English classroom. The books have given the students a chance to continue a discussion they all started in 2011! The students eyes all lit up when they saw the new book, and they didn't even wait for a lesson to prompt them. The students dove right in and started reading and discussing about the book's content.
Our school is fighting for resources in every department, and English has been impacted mostly through reading material that grabs student interest. Your collective kindness has guaranteed that students from this year and in the future will have access to a text that speak to their cultural and social interests.
Thank you again for making a difference.”

Funded Aug 30, 2010Thank you very much for your contribution to our classroom. The texts that were provided to us have opened another door for students to learn about their own cultures as well as build an understanding of perceptions of their home culture including but not limited to similarities and differences among their home culture and cultures of the world. The novels are being used by classes this year; due to the unparalleled success of the novel, they will also be used in the coming years coupled with the Narrative and Expository Units.
Our school has enough trouble covering the bare necessities for education, renewing only the core texts for the students. The students' collective hunger for outside reading fueled my reaching out, and thanks to your kindness in providing the texts to better equip the 21st Century Thinkers I am attempting to shape.
With donors such at the foundation, myriad classrooms, including my own, would lack resources.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Diaz
Winning Winn-Dixie?
Funded Sep 18, 2009I wish I could do more to express my sincere gratitude for giving my students a much needed resource in our shared classroom. We are presently using the texts to draw connections between the students' own lives and the lives of the characters in the text. The text has become such an excellent resource that I am hoping the texts will be able to be used for next year's class as well to continue learning for a new classroom of students.
At our school, the budget for anything beyond core texts is razor thin, so if you had no provided this text for our classroom, it most definitely would not have been possible to have access to outside reading. Skilled writing and skilled, critical reading go hand in hand, and with our new text, that is now possible.
Your donation has truly impacted the lives of our students. Thank you again for making this possible.”
With gratitude,
Mr. Diaz
Printing Brilliance
Funded Oct 1, 2008Your donation has truly helped students who crave resources further their push into the 21st century. The students will continue their projects now with a hint more savvy and wherewithal when it comes to using digital media and seeing their ideas come to life with the printer. The students' eyes all lit up when they heard the announcement. I can't wait until the students are actually able to use the printer for our upcoming projects. We all truly appreciate your kindness”

Book 'em Danno!
Funded Dec 11, 2007Thank you so much for funding the International Studies Learning Center for the next book in the series. The students are already devouring the 'Tiger' book and hope to get into the next one as soon as possible. They will most likely be done at the semester break in February, so your contribution comes at a perfect time.
I look forward to sending you pictures of some of our students reading the books you have provided as well as some positive feedback from the students themselves”

Help International Kids Become International!
Funded Oct 2, 2007On behalf of all the students at International Studies Learning Center, thank you for your generosity in offering the means to help the International Studies family deepen their understanding of international cultures and ideas. I have already begun preparing a list of videos and resources to show the students based on the books will be reading in accompaniment. This gift will truly help the students here become more international and fulfill the learning goals set by the Asia Society for our school. The students have heard about your generosity and are very much interested in augmenting their own learning. I look forward to sending you pictures and a signed letter from the students who are partaking of the use of the A/V equipment your kindness has made possible.
Sincerely,
Matthew ”
