One of the challenges of distance learning is not being able to whip out manipulatives when necessary. We are working on math structures that will be used throughout their many years of math education. Although they are only six and seven years old, their math is quickly becoming advanced. It would be invaluable for these young learners to have the use of a set of unifix cubes to create models of the large numbers they are adding/subtracting, so they can "break the numbers apart" and regroup in a way that is both visual and concrete.
