My name is Mary Perez. I have wanted to be a teacher my entire life! Working with young people is truly my vocation, and something I have felt called to. When I graduated from High School, I was recruited by the Golden Apple Foundation in Illinois. The mission of this organization is to train young people, with a passion for education, to serve in inner city classrooms. While I believed I would teach in Chicago, my plan would quickly change. I have been married for 17 years to my college sweetheart, who entered the Army after college ROTC. After many travels, we are now settled in Southern Arizona. I have taught for over 17 years, and my subject areas include English, Spanish, and History. Every school year brings excitement over the young people who come through my classroom door.
