  • TPT Treasures

    Funded Feb 13, 2025

Thank you for all your generous full funding of my project TPT Treasures. Even though we are not in a virtual teaching/learning situation anymore, I still use TPT= Teachers Pay Teachers website to purchase quality online materials and activities for my students. I especially use TPT because I can find many bilingual or Spanish resources which are vital to my bilingual classroom.

By simply uploading my TPT purchased resources to Google Classroom, my students can use them immediately. Many of these resources include books, games, curriculum based slides and activities, holiday activities & create your own crafts, and many others! This is extremely exciting for the students and they are usually having so much fun, they don't know they're learning!

    Thank you again, Mary”

    With gratitude,

  • Books Defeat Boredom

    Funded Oct 4, 2024

I would like to thank all of my generous donors for helping to complete my project "Books Defeat Boredom". My main goal of creating this project was to search for books that would not only fill my shelves, but also to create an environment of students WANTING to read for entertainment. It's not an easy task. If we don't find ways for kids to enjoy reading at 3rd grade, it will be an even more challenging task as they get older.

After doing some research, I learned that graphic novels was the main suggestion from teachers. So I filled my cart with graphic novels, as well as other books I thought would interest my young readers. Graphic novels have a way of grabbing a student's attention while teaching them at the same time. Most graphic novels are non-fiction which could be about an important event in history or a famous American. I tried to select books which would align to my 3rd grade standards, but also a bunch of books just for fun!

Not that I want kids fighting over anything, but they do "fight" over these books! I had to create a sign-in, out system for the more popular ones!

So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. Mary”

  • Snacks to Satisfy

    Funded Sep 19, 2024

Studies have proven that children have higher learning capacity and higher engagement in school if their basic needs are met. Food is the number one need for my students over the weekend. Through your generous donations, my students are able to take home two snacks before they leave for the weekend. I realize that doesn't sound like much, but for them it is! For some, it may be the only food they eat until breakfast on Monday morning at school. When they saw the snack bin for the first time, they were so curious! And when I took off the lid and showed them what was inside- it was like Christmas morning! Most of the snacks I requested are nutritious and some not so much. They are allowed to take one of each. We all deserve a treat! I know these snacks will not last all year, so I will need to replenish again before the end of the year, but for now everyone leaves happy on Friday. I am planning on sending home enough snacks for the entire Thanksgiving weekend coming up soon, so they at least have something just in case. So again, thank you for your generous donations and know that having this project fully funded means a lot to us all. Mary”

  • Replenishing for Readiness

    Funded Aug 26, 2024

You have no idea how amazing it was for me to provide each student with beautiful, new school supplies to begin the year! Although some of my students are able to bring the necessary school supplies, the majority are not able to. They were surprised like Christmas morning. To know each student starts the year with the same supplies and nobody is lacking in anything, is an amazing environment for us all. Nobody feels excluded or left out; we begin the year as an inclusive community.

Thanks to my generous donors, we will be set for the year and beyond with fresh supplies for everyone!”

We are currently working on a lot of group activities, and the markers and chart paper are extremely helpful to me as the teacher, and the kids feel like teachers when the get to write on the giant sticky paper!”

  • Farewell Friends

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Unfortunately my delivery for this item never arrived or was misplaced within my school. It will not allow me to track the delivery. I am extremely disappointed I couldn't give my students this amazing resource to help prevent "summer slide". As teachers, bridging that gap and keeping kids interested is extremely important. I will attempt to order these again for this years' students.

As for the Third Grade Angel reading books, it's such a lovely story. All my students are my angels and by giving them this book, I hope they remember me & all of our great 3rd grade experiences.

So thank you so much for fully funding this project!”

  • Off to a Great Start!

    Funded Jul 26, 2023

Thank you so much for fully funding my project! It's extremely important for each child to feel like they belong in their classroom and the materials you have provided did just that! From birthday charts to desk name plates and my favorite resource, a book I read welcoming them to the 1st day of school, I feel the start of the school year made everyone feel welcome.

The 3-ring binders are used every day for our morning math. They help keep the students' papers neat & organized so they know exactly what page we are doing each morning. Little (not so)funny anecdote- two students dropped their binders and the pages went flying! There were tears. We just grabbed all the papers and reorganized, that took 2 days but all was accomplished.

So thank you for making my job easier by providing these supplies.”

  • End of Year Excitement

    Funded Apr 12, 2023

Your generous donations helped to make the end of the school year exciting for us all! The kids were so excited to receive a beach ball, but they didn't know the reason. I told them it wasn't just a toy to play with, but rather a third grade memoir to keep with you forever. They were a bit confused until I told them to blow them up & to collect their classmates' signatures!! Just getting them blow up was a task, but in the end, the excitement and smiles on their faces was contagious!! It put me in a very happy place as well knowing my kiddos were leaving my classroom with a very special mental and physical memory of the class!”

  • Becoming WOW Writers!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you for your extreme generosity in fully funding my DC project!

Writing is the most challenging subject to teach and to learn. When developing this project, I was thinking about products that would keep my students engaged and interested in the writing process. I purchased metallic folders & notebooks, little colored sticky note pads, and giant post-it sticky lined poster paper. My favorite resources purchased that I will get to use with future classes are fun, grade-level picture books which reinforce all writing conventions, process, and genres. I am grateful to have all these materials at my disposal to assist teaching the writing process. Thank you again for your generosity.”

Bienvenidos a la Escuela Vieau! Welcome to Vieau School! Thanks for visiting my project page! I am a 3rd grade bilingual Spanish teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools- about to embark on my 24th year! All my students are capable, eager 2nd language learners who are well deserving of some beautifying of their classroom Library/Reading Center. Our building was built in 1864 and although the architecture is beautiful, the interior of the classrooms needs some help! I know that when a child feels comfortable in their classroom, they will also feel more comfortable reading for academics as well as reading for pleasure. I want to make sure they have that comfort place available at all times! With the help from donors, I will create this place for my students.
