My students need the AeroGarden Farm Plus Hydroponic Garden with seeds to learn responsibility, extend their learning and try new things. In 5th grade we learn about plant cells, the parts and functions of different types of plants, and different types of leaves. This can also be tied in with math by measuring and graphing growth over time. This project will be another way to encourage my students to make healthy choices by having the opportunity to grow and sample fresh produce in the classroom. This will also provide a great way to work on social skills while building relationships as students will be working together to care for and maintain the plants.
