I love my young motivated students! They love coming to school because learning is fun in kindergarten. They get excited when they get to play with manipulatives, like Play-doh to learn the basic foundational skills such as letters recognition and numbers. My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and many families have two working parents. Our school has more than 50% of its students on free or reduced lunch. Although our school does provide us with some basic manipulatives, there is often times a lack of money for items that could take my students further in their learning. This is why I would like to provide my students with the different tools that will help them build reading, writing, and problem solving skills through play.
