Counseling Activities
Funded Aug 17, 2023Thank you all so much again for your generosity! My work in my counseling office this school year has been greatly impacted in many positive ways by these materials. Select students helped me unpack the boxes and put everything together. It was extremely gratifying to see their excitement. Since receiving the new counseling tools and activities, I have noticed amazing differences in my students attention and excitement while working with me during both small group and individual sessions.
Most of the materials were focused on restorative justice, an evidence based practice that I have woven into my school counseling program this school year. I am excited to see how these new practices improve my schools culture, and school counseling program goal data! Thank you all again.”

Flexible Seating
Funded May 12, 2023Thank you all so much again for your generosity! My work in my counseling office has been greatly impacted in many positive ways by these materials. Select students helped me unpack the boxes and put everything together, and you would have thought it was Christmas morning! It was extremely gratifying to see their excitement. Since receiving the new flexible seating, I have noticed amazing differences in my students focus during both small group and individual sessions.
The wobble stools I received adjustable, and allow students to sit at desk/higher tables but will still have some movement. When sitting in the wobble stools, students are able to move their bodies while learning, which I have seen has lead to a higher participation rate and less distractibility. Additionally, the stools, jellyfish chair, cushion and saucer chair allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of my office, which has been beneficial for individual sessions specifically. I cant wait to use all this seating for the years to come!”

Funded Jul 23, 2022Thank you all so much again for supporting my small group counseling supplies project! I received most of my materials over the summer, and I was able to get almost everything set up over this week. I'm excited to see the excitement in my students faces as they enter my new office for a small group session!
As you can see by the photos, I set up a small group counseling zone in the back of my office. Then, I filled the book shelf and cabinets with all the materials from this project! Ideally, when a student comes in for a small group, they would by the kidney table at one of the table spots, and we would begin facilitation of a small group session. Some of the items I received I also intend to use for self-regulation when students come to visit my office, classroom counseling lessons, and individual sessions.
The next steps for this project is to use it, and go over the rules of how to use the small group zone properly! Although most of the items are fun and playful, they serve a purpose and its important for my students to know that. ”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you all so much again for supporting my peace corner project! I received most of my materials yesterday and today, and during my lunch break I was able to get almost everything set up with the help of a few 5th grade friends. The excitement on their faces as they opened amazon boxes was so motivating, they all wanted to relax and play with everything during their recess! I'm excited to see that same level of joy from my other frequent flyer students for the last few weeks of school, and students in the future.
As you can see by the photos, I set up the peace corner with my jumbo bean bag and fun cart I already had on hand. Then, I filled the fun cart with all the materials from this project! Ideally, when a student comes in in need of self-regulation, they would sit on the bean bag and use a self-regulation tool from the peace corner of their choice for 5 minutes, take 3 deep breathes, then I would come over and speak to them about what happened. Some of the items I received I also intend to use for some of my small groups, classroom counseling lessons, and other individual sessions.
The next steps for this project is to use it, and go over the rules of how to use it properly! Although most of the items are fun and playful, they serve a purpose and its important for my students to know that. Also, as you can see in one of the photos, I hope to give out "peace corner passes" to my students who often need help regulating their big feelings.”
