Calling All Readers!!!
Funded Aug 29, 2021I can't thank you enough for your donation to my classroom! My students LOVE reading all of the new graphic novels you helped purchase for our classroom. My students are eager to discuss new characters with one another.
Adding all of these graphic novels to our classroom has really motivated some of my more reluctant readers. When they open the books, they are often overwhelmed by a page full of words. The graphic novels have high-interest pictures with words written in speech balloons. This helps my friends feel more at ease and has even helped them gain confidence in their reading.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thank you for giving the gift of reading to my students!!”

Get Your "Wobbles" Out!
Funded Oct 24, 2019My students LOVE the wobble stools you helped us get! The boys and girls were so excited when the boxes arrived at school. We had to open them right away. They each took turns wobbling around for a bit.
My students sit on the stools to work and when listening to stories. Sometimes, they sit in them just to get their wobbles out. It is amazing how much they move around on them and stay focused on their learning.
We are so thankful for generous donors like you! You help make our classroom a more unique, flexible, and positive learning environment. Without you having new flexible seating options would not be possible.”

Just Their Size
Funded Aug 13, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! My students love our new chairs! They are used everyday. The boys and girls use them at a table when working and playing together. They are highly sought after to use during silent reading time as well. The boys and girls can sit upright or even adjust the back to get comfy when reading. They are a great addition to our classroom coziness! It's people like you that help to make classrooms a fun, cozy place to be!
Thank you again for your generosity!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 6 other donors."Just Their Size"
Funded Dec 18, 2018Thank you so much for helping fund "Just Their Size"! My students absolutely love the new table and often gather there as a group throughout the day. It has become a true focal point in our classroom.
The day the table arrived there was quite a buzz in the room. We received two boxes and the boys and girls tried guessing what each could be. One student finally started looking at the words on the big box instead of just the sizes of each. They were elated when they realized it was a table. There was much anticipation as we waited for our custodian to put the table together for us.
The next day the table was ready for use and we had to set up a schedule of use for the first day or so. The really nice part of this table is it seems to be intended for four to use, but so many more can fit around this table. It truly is "Just Their Size". The boys and girls play puzzles, games, cards, do work and just about anything you can think of at our new table.
My students and I truly appreciate your generosity!”

The Love of Reading!!
Funded Oct 27, 2015Thank you for your generous donation last fall! My second grade class LOVES the recorders you helped purchase for our class.
The recorders are in use everyday! During our small group reading time, students take turns reading out loud into a recorder. The boys and girls are able to listen and hear themselves reading. I have noticed an improvement in reading fluency and expression since acquiring the recorders. The boys and girls are learning to self-assess their reading and decide if they are reading too fast or too slow. They are learning to read at a "Just Right" pace with the help of the recorders.
The recorders have also been used for a student that needs a little extra help in writing. He has great ideas. He often forgets his thoughts as he is writing. Now, he can record his story and listen back while writing to be sure he does not forget all the good details he wanted to share.
The recorders are a great asset to my classroom and will be used for many years to come!”
