One Switch at a Time- Let's Play!
Funded Nov 29, 2023Thank you for supporting our students! I We teach students that have so little access, and your generosity has truly made a difference in their young lives. It has been fun to see students excited, engaged, and interested. The first time one of our students used her switch to blow bubbles, her face lit up. Another student felt proud when she was able to active the dice roller and realized that she did that. Thank you for helping us provide access to learning through play with our students in a way that they can understand. With such significant mobility challenges, they can only do what they can do, and switch-adapted toys like these give them power.”

Funded Feb 15, 2023Thank you! Paw Patrol! Pigeon! Puzzles! These "P"s have been bringing so much joy to students. It is a great feeling to be able to sit down next to a reluctant student and read together about their favorite characters. The puzzles have been a great hit with some of my younger struggling students. It's a great feeling as a teacher to see them succeed on this task. All of these materials are easy for me to transport as I travel from home to home and durable to last for many years to come. Thank you again for getting these materials into the hands of my students so that they "don't miss out."”

Engaging Homebound Students with an Apple iPad
Funded Nov 29, 2022The smiles on my students' faces show it all. This ipad has been a huge motivator for my students and a very efficient way to bring learning into their homes. On any given day, one student can listen to a favorite song to develop language and movement skills, another can follow along with a favorite book, and another can use it to learn vocabulary and practice math. My students live in a world filled with technology and it has been great to be able to use this ipad alongside a variety of other learning materials. You have made a big difference in the lives of my students; even though they must remain at home, with internet access and the use of this ipad, learning is being brought to them. Thank you!”

Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you for your support in providing my students with so many books! When we put books into the hands of students, they learn to love reading. Among our favorites this year are books from the popular movies Luca, Raya and the Last Dragon, and Space Jam. The Dog Man books were also a top favorite-- several of my students have already read them all! It always brings a joy to my heart and a smile to my face to see my students enthralled in books. They are becoming avid readers, and this strength carries over into many areas of learning. Thank you again for partnering with me to make this possible.”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for helping fund this project. It was amazing to see the joy of learning on my students' faces when I introduced these materials. The category activity boxes quickly became a favorite for many! The the box of easy-to-read words puzzle cards are supporting beginning reading, the handwriting books are helping students make quick progress with writing, and the paint sets have became a fun way to practice fine motor skills. It has been a joy to be able to offer so many choices to my students. They have improved their focus and attention, and they made progress in literacy. Thank you so much for your part in this.”

Funded Dec 5, 2019Our students absolutely love printing their work! They love to display their writing in the classroom, and they love to take it home to show their families. Three of the photos show student work from our exemplary wall. I teach first, second, and third graders, so there is a wide range of writing ability, but the pride students feel is consistent. This pride shows on their faces as they eagerly hook up a Chromebook to the printer to print out their work and then display their favorite pieces on the wall.
We have also been using the ink to print classroom displays. I have included three photos from our Reading focus wall. Each day at the start of a new lesson, students review the topics we are working on, including objectives, essential questions, and vocabulary. These displays are interactive and keep students (and teacher) grounded and focused on learning.
We are so thankful for your donation of this ink and for your support. It makes all of these print-outs possible, and seeing truly is believing.”

Funded Aug 17, 2019Thank you so much! This printer has revolutionized our classroom environment. Students are printing their written work and displaying their favorite books. Teachers are printing materials to support learning and communicate with families. It is so much fun!
Among many things, we have used this printer to send home newsletters and progress reports to parents and to display responses to favorite books. We have used this printer to print thank you letters to community visitors and to send friendly letters to each other.
Thanks to your generosity, the possibilities for printed work and activities this year are endless!”

Funded Feb 6, 2019Thank you so much! We tried to work on decimals and fractions at the beginning of the year without these materials, and it was tough. What a difference these materials make! My students are now able to see how decimals are different from whole numbers. They are able to understand what a part of a number is, and how to work with it. Pairing the new decimal strips with the fractions strips we already had, they can now easily see that 3/4 is equivalent to 0.75. My students now understand that in the number 45.608, the "8" is not really an 8, but rather a 0.008. They have been given a great foundation. Thank you so much for truly bringing math alive!”

Funded Jun 14, 2018How amazing it has been to start off the year with our classroom fully stocked! We have pencils and paper to do our writing and a pencil sharpener to keep those pencils sharp. We have dry erase markers to practice our skills on white boards. We have printer ink and paper so we can print our electronic work. We have Kleenex and soap and wipes to keep our hands and our classroom clean. It is wonderful to have everything we need! The students are so excited and the smiles on their faces show how grateful we all are. Thank you for partnering with us in getting all of these resources. It is such a blessing to have all we need to just focus on our learning. It is a great start to a great year!”

Accelerating Learning with AR Books
Funded Mar 19, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity. I look at my students and my bookshelves, and I am in awe of the influence these books have. We are truly blessed to have such a well-stocked classroom library. A well-stocked classroom library equals a well-read set of students. As a class, my students each read an average of 253 books this year, with one student reading 425 books! When we practice a skill, we get better at that skill, and all of of my students have grown tremendously as readers. But more importantly, they have become students who enjoy reading. This will serve them not only for this year, but for a lifetime. Thank you for helping me get great AR books into the hands of these kiddos!”
