  • Warm Hats, Gloves and Scarves Needed!

    Funded Jan 17, 2025

On behalf of my students, thank you so much for your generous donations to this project! You have provided my students the gift that will keep them warm during these very cold winter months. I can’t wait to see my student’s faces when the scarves, hats and gloves arrive.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Martinez

  • Chairs Needed!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you very much for your kind donations to fund this project!

My students had been sitting on wooden chairs that were well over twenty years old which had served their purpose and needed to be retired. Apart from being old, they were unsafe for my students to sit on. Now, my students get to sit on safe comfortable chairs while they work.

Also, since my students do not have desks, they have seat pockets to keep their workbooks, crayons, and pencils. The chairs are perfect to hold the seat pockets.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Martinez

  • A Space for Everyone!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to this project. Each of my students has his/her own space to sit on our new carpet when we do activities such as whole group lessons/discussions, presentations, graphing, centers, etc. Our previous carpet did not have enough spaces, so not all of my students were able to sit on the carpet. Now, my students have enough room to sit comfortably. They no longer have to sit on carpet squares or on an absent student's space.

Again, thank you for giving a space to everyone!”

  • School-to-Home Folders Needed!

    Funded Mar 18, 2023

My students were very excited to receive a folder which matches the color of the table where they sit! Every morning, they place their folders in the "folder holder" and take them out of their mailboxes at the end of the end of the day to take them home.

The labeled pockets also make it easy for parents to know which papers they should keep at home and which papers to return to school. Also, the pocket in the front of the folder is great for notes and/or letters which need immediate attention, as it is the first thing the parents will see when they look at their children's folders.

Thank you so much for your generosity!

  • Snacks Needed!

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations for this project. The snacks gave my students a boost of energy so that they could make it through the day without worrying about growling tummies because they were hungry. My students were able to become engaged and concentrate in learning activities instead of worrying about their empty tummies. My students looked forward to snack time every day.

I made it into a mini math lesson, counting how many cookies they each had and the shape of the different cookies.”

  • Manipulatives for Learning Needed!

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you very much for funding our project. My students were excited to receive the manipulatives, which they consider "toys."

My students use their primary journals during literacy lessons to write and draw their responses to a read aloud. They also use them during free writing time.

My students use many of the manipulatives during math centers. For example, they use snap cubes to add and subtract, and compose and decompose numbers (using a number bond). My students use the double-sided counters to practice making different combinations of a given number.

Covering designs with the pattern block soft shapes is a popular center in our classroom. In addition to the beautiful designs, the students also learn the names of the shapes whey they talk about what shapes they use to cover the designs.”

    Mrs. Martinez

  • Writing Materials for Aspiring Writers!

    Funded Feb 6, 2022

My students were very excited when I showed them our new writing materials! They use these materials daily during centers to practice concepts they are learning in literacy and math.

One of the literacy center activities is to practice their sight words. I place the activity sheet with the week's sight words in the write and wipe pockets. The students read the word, construct it with letters, and then write the word with the dry erase marker. Using these materials saves paper and is more fun for my students, instead of writing the words several times on a sheet of paper.

My students use glue for cut-and-paste activities for math and literacy. The art center is a big hit in our classroom. My students enjoy drawing and coloring with markers. Finally, my students earn star stickers for good behavior and receive a small prize for every five stars they earn. My students count their stars and look forward to receiving their prizes. Thank you very much for funding our project!”

  • Printer and CD Player for Successful Scholars!

    Funded Feb 6, 2022

My students were very excited when we received the two boxes which contained the printer and the boom box. Some students guessed what it was before I took it out. Then, when I took out the printer, they wanted to help me carry it to the space I made for it. My students were so cute!

Now the students can listen to the "Morning" song before we begin our morning meeting, and also for motor breaks. They are happy the music will not stop abruptly, or not play at all.

Many times, my students tell me they need a few more copies for their group, and they do not have to wait because I can make them at that moment. My students now know that we have access to making the copies we need without having to wait.

Again, thank you very much for funding our project!”

  • Wanted: Spanish Phonics and Sight Word Games!

    Funded Jan 15, 2022

Thank you so much for funding this project for my students. They were very happy when they saw the materials for practicing phonics and making sight words!

When I announce that it's time for literacy centers, my students become very excited and look forward to visit each center. When they unscramble syllables and make words, or create words with foam letters or letter tiles, my students call me over and proudly show me their work. The best thing about this is that they are learning while having fun!”

My students enjoy taking books home and being read to by their parents. A Cart Leveled Reading Book with nine tubs for browsing, Sets of Ten Bilingual Books, and library Book Pockets would make their experience of participating in a lending library organized and manageable; my kindergarten kiddos will be able to pick a just-right book because they will be able to find it! Being read to by your grown-up is the BEST feeling, when you're five! Not only does it help student's reading skills it helps their socio-emotional skills. Parents having access to books from our classroom library (in their first language) promotes reading before bed and having those quiet moments that become unforgettable.
