  • Loud and Clear Materials for Speech Students

    Funded Jun 26, 2023

Thank you yet again for supporting my speech classroom! The students LOVE the new materials. The mouth model is especially an exciting part of the speech room now!

I greatly appreciate your generosity in providing downloadable PDF materials, new and improved cards with updated images, individual mirrors for each of my student's articulation practice, and - of course - the fun and helpful large mouth model!

These materials will not be used just this year, but for many years to come! My students and I are so grateful for the gifts we have received! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brinkmann

  • Speeching It Up in Class!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Your donation to my project has been impactful for my speech and language students during each session. By having their own pouches ready to go full of markers, glue, scissors, and a pencil, we quickly transition in to our learning and creating.

Additionally, I received a gift card toward materials from Teachers Pay Teachers. The materials that I purchased are versatile, easy to use, and can meet the needs of my diverse caseload for years to come.

Finally, the donations toward additional laminating pouches, velcro dots, and glue dots, help me continue to make a difference in children's communication by providing durable and colorful visuals they can use in the classroom and beyond.

I am very grateful that you have taken the time to support my classroom this year and will remember your generosity in the years to come! THANK YOU!”

  • Finding Our Voices in Speech!

    Funded Jun 8, 2022

Thank you so kindly for supporting my students this school year! We have a new classroom in our building's mobile unit, so your gifts are very much appreciated as we learn in a new space!

Many of the items in this project will be used to help teach articulation placement and manner to my speech sound students! They are already so excited to have mini mouth puppets to use along with me as I teach placement with my jumbo mouth puppet!

We also have new pieces of literature as a result of this project. Books are a valuable part of all classrooms and it's so exciting to share new stories with my students!

I am touched by your generosity and want you to know that you truly make a difference!”

  • Playing Around With Great Speech!

    Funded Mar 2, 2022

My students and I are forever grateful for your generosity. While speech can seem like fun and games, we are working hard to grow in our communication skills! Functional activities, such as games, help us have fun and practice valuable skills, such as turn-taking and problem solving. These skills can be carried over in to the rest of our school days and, even, our lives!

The new games will bring joy to my students for many years to come. The new printable materials, card-stock, and velcro will help functional visuals come to life! Finally, my students are just so THRILLED to have markers in every classic color in each of their seat backs! Your gift has brought us so much joy at the start of a new and wonderful school year! THANK YOU!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brinkmann

  • Colorful & Vibrant Visuals for Speech!

    Funded Aug 16, 2021

While my original project changed as I received materials (that unfortunately were not compatible with our school networking situation), I did have the opportunity to select alternative materials that, I feel, spoke to the core of what I originally intended the project to achieve: colorful and vibrant visuals for speech students!

For example, I purchased additional strong magnetic clips to display our work and visuals within the classroom. I selected a hand pointer to assist students in scanning visuals for their answer. I chose colorful crafting supplies, such as popsicle sticks, tissue paper, glue sticks, and play-doh, for students to get interactive, hands-on learning opportunities within the speech room. In addition, I found additional sensory items and picture books to share with students on a daily basis.

I have been able to incorporate these items easily in to many different speech sessions and students have enjoyed the access to new items while growing their learning. I am very grateful for your generous support. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

  • Help Us Organize Our Speech & Language Skills

    Funded Aug 9, 2021

Thank you for your wonderful support in helping my students stay organized in the speech room. Organization is very important. It is a life skill and something that is a struggle for many students.

By providing students with materials to keep themselves organized and modeling how we can use them, we are providing students with this life skill as they move through not just their academic careers, but their lives.

Speech folders organize their progress monitoring documents, work for follow up sessions, and things of note. Additionally, the use of a thermal binding machine has given me the opportunity to produce materials for students in an organized fashion that is minimally-distracting and less likely to fall apart over the course of the school year.

Thank you again for thinking of my students and me this school year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brinkmann

  • Help Us Get Our Hands On New Speech Activities

    Funded Jul 18, 2021

Your support for my classroom has given my students so much with this project! One of my students' favorite parts are the Early Language Activity Boxes. I have found they adore the miniatures that are included in the boxes and it helps keep their hands and minds engaged!

Additionally, the $100 Gift Card toward Educational Resources from Teachers Pay Teachers has allowed me to access additional materials in a digital format. These materials are able to be downloaded and printed or shared digitally with families for speech homework. In these times when we are trying to maintain social distance, these activities have been a crucial part of our speech sessions as well!

Velcro dots, card stock, and laminating sheets have allowed me to create and share my own resources with students in sessions and to create visuals for classroom or home use. These supplies are a valuable part of my material collection.

Please know your donation has made a difference in my classroom now and for years to come!”

  • Help Us Get S'more Speech & Language Skills!

    Funded Jun 15, 2021

I created this project many months ago to provide my students with a new thematic unit to target speech & language skills as we all gathered back together in person for the first time in more than a year. Some of my students, as I expected, have been camping. Many more have never had the opportunity. All of my students, however, enjoyed the activities this project provided!

One of my students' favorite parts of this project were the pretend camping supplies. Whether it be the pretend campfire, s'more roasting supplies, or the lantern, they were so excited to sit around our speech "campfire" and listen to a book (also provided by this project!), share about their own experiences, and learn together in person after so many months apart.

In addition to the hands-on play camping supplies and themed-literature, we received a gift card toward purchasing digital materials. I now have additional readily-available and downloadable PDF materials. Should we ever have to be remote again, I am able to easily share these with families digitally. These materials will be used for many years to come. I was able to purchase a variety of materials that allow us to target speech & language objectives while discussing our thematic unit and vocabulary.

I can not express enough how much the kids enjoyed this camping theme. Whether it be in our small groups within the speech room or our whole group language lessons in the special education classrooms, the students were engaged, excited to learn, and (I could tell, even under the masks) were SMILING! This unit will become a regularly targeted theme each year. Thank you to YOU, our wonderful donor, for making this

    possible!”

  • Speech Is the Place to Be!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I wanted to again say thank you for funding my project! This project contained a variety of materials for my students as my students have very diverse needs.

From our preschoolers who require the picture exchange cards to make requests to my fifth graders who need a fun game to pass the time during articulation drill, we are so very thankful this holiday season for your gifts to us. The books purchased with these funds have been incredible learning tools for my students working on their narrative skills.

Have a wonderful holiday season and know that you indeed make a big difference in the lives of many children at OME!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brinkmann
