I teach three and four year old children with Autism. My students are bright and eager; however, they lack the ability to express their feelings and ideas and successfully interact with their peers. The children need specific instructions on how to interpret social cues, engage in play, and participate in reciprocal conversations using appropriate communication behaviors (eye contact, voice volume, and body posture). My students learn side-by-side their non-disabled peers in a general education classroom. The tools and materials requested will encourage student learning through social play.
