  • Backing Up Students' Work

    Funded Dec 13, 2024

Thank you all for backing up me and my students by donating to our project! Boy did they make a very positive impact. One of the photos I sent shows what the bulletin board I have in my classroom is REALLY faded. The other photos don't don't the boards justice with how bright they all look with the new bulletin board paper up. The yellow verticle construction paper on two boards are for placing student work on them. The paper made an automatic impact on brightening up our classroom. The students continue to say that they love how much brighter our classroom is and how nice their work will look on the boards now because of all of you. THANKS!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Parker

  • A Potpourri of Resources

    Funded Feb 14, 2025

It is such an honor that you chose to donate to my project. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The resources will greatly help me meet the needs of my students through classroom management ideas from the book, calendar activities with the new calendar, and supplemental materials printed with the ink.

Once again, thank you for your support!”

  • Printing With Class!

    Funded Aug 22, 2024

Once again, thank you very much for your generous donations! They have made such a huge impact. I've been able to print supplemental worksheets for my students in all academic areas. For instance, the photos represent some work my students did for Thanksgiving. We learned about what traditions are like how they celebrate Thanksgiving and what they are thankful for. They completed a worksheet on what they are thankful for. They review some high frequency words by coloring a turkey where each word was a certain color. They reviewed the short/long "e" and "i" sounds by coloring words certain colors based on each sound. These provided them a fun way to practice grade level skills and learn about the traditions of their classmates and people around the world.

Thanks again for all of your support!”

  • Project Ink

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Once again thank you for supporting my students! It has been SO wonderful having ink to print out cross-curricular activities and resources. My photos indicate how I've used it to print math word problems for students to practice their problem-solving skills. The other photo shows phonics/spelling and reading comprehension questions students had to answer regarding an article they read about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have also used our printer and ink to print out QR Codes for the Black History Month Biographies they wrote using Book Creator, an online book creating app. The codes were displayed on our hallway bulletin board for students to scan with their iPads to read.

As you can see, we're off to a roaring start putting the ink to good use. We truly appreciate your thoughtful support!”

  • Hot Off the Press!

    Funded May 11, 2023

Once again, please know this printer has been such a blessing for me and my students so thank you from the bottom of my heart! I used it at the end of the school year to print out end-of-the-year paperwork and QR codes for students to access programs and educational apps in Schoology (our learning management system) when students would need a replacement; I've printed QR Codes this year for my new students and parents. I just can't photograph them for security reasons. This year I also used the printer to print my daily schedule to post in my classroom and to share with parents at Back to School Night. I'm also printing data and work samples from students in preparation for IEP meetings.

As you can see, we're putting your wonderful donations to good use by allowing me to print work to support and enhance my teaching and my students' learning in all areas and have easy access to educational technology. Thanks for supporting me and my incredible students!!”

  • Weaving Literature and Mathematics Together

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Once again, thank you so much for donating to my project. You were a HUGE help in bringing additional literature into my classroom that was woven into Math and other subject areas. As you can see in the photos, we used literature such as "City Shapes" that focuses on a girl's walk through her community and finds so many shapes everywhere she looks. Students identified shapes in the story and in our class/school communities. They also shared ones they see in their own neighborhoods. They learned about their attributes and created the artwork you see in the photos.

Students also learned about the life cycle of plants such as tomato plants and got to plant their own during an Earth Day activity that was done schoolwide. This was done in conjunction with the book "Tomatoes for Neela." It focuses on family traditions and recipes handed down from generation to generation. Students made connections between the story and their own families and shared recipes. They created their own book cover for the book. Other books that were funded by this project focused on counting collections and students participated in Math lessons where they counted groups of objects using different counting patterns.”

  • Fostering Innovation and Creativity With a 3d Printer

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

Thanks again for all your support! The students can't wait to print more things out. I've shown them step by step how to prep the printer for printing and how to search for and prepare items in the printer's software and save them to the flash drive that came with the printer. Students were able to observe the Dodgers logo being printed so far. We're going to give it to our principal for Kindness Week. I showed them the rook and how it's lopsided on the bottom. This was my practice print before using with my students, so I shared with them that I didn't set it up to be centered on the build plate initially and the build plate wasn't tight enough so it moved around more. I shared with them how this is all part of learning a new device, and they were very understanding. Practice makes perfect as my students and I say.

Once again, thank you for blessing me and my students with this printer that will be used across the curriculum.”

  • Planting Knowledge With Culturally Relevant Literature

    Funded Apr 8, 2022

Thank you for these wonderful books that have been wonderful additions to out multicultural library. They have sparked great discussions and learning in small and whole group instruction. I was able to create a multi-day, crosscurricular unit using "THE Name jar. Students learned about the meanings of their names and those of their classmates. We did a counting collection using their names in different "jars" to practice different ways of counting patterns. I plan to do similar things with the other books.

Thanks again for you wonderful suppor.”
