I am hoping to make every day of learning in my classroom a welcoming place for students to learn collaboratively by adding flexible seating options. Collaboration and problem solving are important life skills for students to learn and practice. My goal is to set up our classroom with tables and flexible seating so that these skills are an integral part of what we do each day. I want our classroom to look inviting, large, and organized. Tables will help accomplish this goal. I am hoping to purchase 5 tables so that my students can work in groups of 4 to 6 on projects, as well as, everyday assignments and activities. Currently we have to move desks and rearrange the classroom to make group work efficient. The tables that I chose are also adjustable in height to allow for flexible seating, such as stools, wiggle seats, floor seats, and stability balls. I want to transform my classroom into a warm, inviting space where students have the choice and flexiblility to work independently, in pairs, or small groups. Having tables is the first step in this transformation.
