Doodling Into Creativity
Funded Oct 27, 2019When I saw the posting that my project was fully funded, I was overtaken with appreciation. There are no words to express my gratitude. Your generous donation will allow me to stimulate my kids critical thinking and problem solving skills. Thanks to your kindness they will be able to create amazing projects and prototypes that would not be possible without your generosity.
I can’t wait to see their faces lit up when the materials arrive! This means the world to me.
I am overjoyed and humbled by your kindness. I will keep you posted.
Forever grateful,”

Funded Sep 23, 2019First of all, I want to thank you for your generous contribution. We all agree that children cannot learn without the right environment.
There are things we have come to expect in our society, basic things, such as the notion that every classroom is equipped with books and materials.
It is hard to believe that in the Twenty-First Century, in the United States of America, many children have classrooms that resemble the ones we might see in documentaries about third world countries.
Unfortunately, schools funding is distributed neither fairly or adequately. As a result, we see a disparity in the essential learning tools every child should have. Our school is located in an old building and the library has NO CLOSETS!
Thanks to your generous contribution, now my children have a place to store their projects. Now they don't have to be preoccupied that someone is going to steal or vandalize their precious creations. This has helped them become more creative, and it has made my job easier.
Please know that your generosity has helped impact children's lives in a very positive way. Not only do they have a better opportunity to become responsible students, but they have also become aware that there are kind souls out there, and thus, you have contributed to make this a better world.
Again, my heartfelt thanks.”

Funded Feb 6, 2019There are no words to express my gratitude. One of the reasons I love being a teacher is that it keeps me on my toes and keeps me young at heart. There is always something new to learn, specially now in the 21st Century. There are new technologies to be learned and new ways to teach them. Now, we are able create learning situations in which students can probe, experiment, collaborate and create using circuits, artifacts and programming that enable them to acquire skills with real life applications.
It may sound corny but, thanks to your generous contribution, I have become a better educator. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, I love to challenge myself and learn new things each day. The problem I face is access to such technologies. My children are bright and curious. But unfortunately, through no fault of their own, they have become victims of the digital divide. They don't have the same access to technology that other children have, to the point that many of them are not familiar with basic technologies.
And this is where YOU came and changed the narrative for my kids. Your generous donation has allowed me to stimulate my kids' critical thinking and problem solving skills. Before, whenever I challenged them, they were apprehensive and unsure of their abilities. Now, after various months of experimenting and creating with littleBits, a shift has occurred. Not only do they have a deeper understanding of how things work, they have taken it to a whole new level! They are more engaged and creative. They are eager to share their findings with anyone they encounter! One of the positive outcomes that I've witnessed is their determination. They have become more persistent. They have embraced failure and learn from it! This is especially true to my second language learners. Before using the LittleBits, they were rather shy and withdrawn, but now they have become more articulate and self-confident to the point that they are comfortable enough to present in the school's technology fair!
Before they were considered to be "AT RISK" children. Now they are children "AT POSSIBILITIES"!
And for that, I will be forever grateful. May God double the blessings you have given us.”

Funded Feb 23, 2016Dear Donors,
Thanks to your generous contribution, I have become a better educator. Before, littlebits I was apprehensive teaching circuitry and electricity to my young students. These concept are too abstract and arid, especially when you are working with second language learners, and you don't have the proper tools. I was afraid they were not going to fully grasp the concept and shut down. On top of that, some of my students did not see themselves as smart. They were afraid of trying new things at which they might fail.
It's very difficult to convey to paper the joy of witnessing the transformation in my students. Not only do they have a deeper understanding of how things work, they have taken it to a whole new level. They are more engaged and creative. They are embracing the engineering design model to the fullest. They plan, design, test, rebuild and reflect like real inventors. It is so gratifying to see how their problem-solving skills, creative thinking and collaboration have supercharged. Their tenacity has grown tremendously. They try and try again until their creations come to life. Although the concepts have become more rigorous, they are more engaged.
Thanks to you, I am a more fulfilled educator. Now, my kids view themselves in a totally different way. Many are thinking of pursuing future careers in science and engineering. I love to see them work, fully engaged and collaborating with each other. I wish you could been here, and witness "that moment" when my students' eyes lit up after their inventions worked. It is a precious moment, which, thanks to you, my kids and I will cherish forever.
I am forever grateful.”

Mrs. Vargas
