Project Playground!
Funded Aug 14, 2024Thank you again for bringing Project Playground to life! I cannot begin to articulate how happy you've made both me and my students! They were absolutely thrilled when we unboxed all their new playground toys! The kiddos love all the toys, but the kickballs and the binoculars are definitely the most popular! We just finished a science unit on birds and watching them search for birds was so dang sweet to witness!
My favorite aspect is the rolling cart. It makes keeping up with and transporting our toys to and from the playground easy peasy!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! The joy you brought to the faces of my firsties will be imprinted in my mind forever.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Trosclair

Funded Apr 12, 2024Good Gravy! The kiddos love these headphones, but I promise, I love them more!
I wish I had the words to articulate just how life changing these headphones have been for our class. From the beginning of the school year, I knew that we had a few kiddos in the room who are sensitive to noise. We have been finding ways all year to work around classroom sounds in order to meet their sensory needs. However, now that we have had a couple of weeks with our headphones, I have come to realize how I too am affected by noise from the iPads. What a godsend these have been. I always try to be as pleasant as possible to my firsties, but I swear I feel positively jolly now when we have to break out the technology because I am no longer overstimulated to my last nerve!
Thank you again so very much! You're my new favorite person! :)”

Funded Apr 18, 2024Thank you so much for bringing our I can Read project to life! I wish you could have seen my babies faces when the UPS man arrived with their new books! They were over the moon with excitement. So was I!
With your help, our classroom library now has over 40 new I can Read Level 2 books. This was such an important project for us because my kiddos will soon be transitioning to grade 2 and they desperately needed books that would be more challenging to their reading needs.
The kiddos have been diving into their new books. They were especially excited to get their hands on the Amelia Bedelia books. Amelia Bedelia is one of my favorite characters from my own childhood and my firsties just love her too.
Thank you again and again for supporting my children and my classroom.”

Funded Mar 10, 2024Thank you so much for helping to bring our Back to Basics project to life! I cannot tell you how nice it has been to not be stressed out over my kids not having necessary school supplies. Our learning day is so much better knowing that we now have everything we need to learn, uninterrupted.
Our new pencils, paper, crayons, and glue have come in handy as we have been working extra hard this spring to improve our first grade writing skills. My kiddos have just finished a unit on plants, plant parts, and how to grow a seed. I am sharing some of their writing so that you can get a picture of just how your donations are being put to use in our classroom. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as we had fun writing.
Thank you again and again for supporting our little classroom. :)”

We Need Books!
Funded Dec 30, 2023Thank you again for helping to bring our book project to life! And what an awesome project it is! Nothing makes me happier than books and I have taught my firsties to love them as much as I do! So thank you for helping us get our hands on some new titles for our class library.
Some of our new favorites include: Big Brother Peanut Butter, Turtle and Tortoise Are Not Friends, The Big Cheese, and The Sour Grape. My kiddos particularly love the Food Group series.
Again, thank you for all over your contributions to this project and to my little classroom. Without donors like you, we would have to go without. :)”

I'm a Firstie and I Can Read!
Funded Feb 24, 2024Thank you so much for helping to bring our I Can Read project to life! My kiddos have been eagerly diving into reading their new books. As a teacher, nothing warms my heart more than seeing my firsties choosing to read of their own accord.
We already have several new favorites from the new collection. The Bad Seed Visits the Library has been such a hit and so has The Good Egg! I have been enjoying reading aloud the new Amelia Bedelia books as well.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your contributions to this project. Without donors like you, we would not have access to new books and without this platform, we would sorely be missing out on so many learning opportunities. So thank you again and again!”

Ms. Trosclair
My Special Firsties!
Funded Aug 10, 2023What a special project for my little firsties! This year I have been challenged and blessed with a special group of kiddos. Because I want to ensure all my kiddos have the materials they need to feel included, projects like this one are a must!
Some of the most loved items from this project are the touch and feel books. The baby animals touch and feel and the vehicle touch and feel books are especially popular. My kiddos also love the Little People school bus.
Thank you again for supporting my firsties, but especially for supporting the needs of my special population kiddos.”

Books on Wheels!
Funded Jul 15, 2023Thank you again for fully funding our Books on Wheels project! We have had so much fun rolling our Reading Cart from first grade classroom to first grade classroom! The kiddos get so excited when they see that cart rolling into the room. I get tickled every time they squeal with delight!
This project was so much fun because it involved all of the first grade classes and students. Knowing that all the kiddos are exposed to high-quality literature is a win-win in my book.
Thank you again and again for supporting the children of JCES!”

Hand to Mind
Funded Aug 2, 2023What a fun project this one has been!
This project was all about building those foundational skills for reading and math, but incorporating play into it. Every day my kiddos beg to play with the Number Block toys while we watch Number Blocks. Some of their other favorites are the math puzzles and the reading rods.
I just love watching my babies play; it brings me so much joy. Especially since school has become so academic focused and less emphasis is put on the social and emotional needs of our little ones. So THANK YOU tremendously for helping to support us. We are forever grateful!”

Funded May 10, 2023Thank you again for funding our Clean and Healthy Classroom project! I love our new stick vacuum that keeps our rug so pretty and clean. The kiddos love the Clorox wipes and air fresheners.
Every day we clean and sanitize the room at the end of the school day. I believe it is important for students to be responsible for keeping their own classroom neat and tidy. The kiddos enjoy using the vacuum and their favorite activity is to wipe the tables down with the disinfecting wipes. We play a game called "Dirtiest Wipe" and the kiddo with the dirtiest wipe after we clean our tables is the winner!
We appreciate your continued support of our classroom. :)”
