  • Time for Reading and Writing and Editing, Oh My!

    Funded Aug 13, 2023

I am incredibly grateful for the donations that have provided English Language Arts curriculum to my classroom. Materials have included Time for Kids magazines, daily writing and reading materials, and tools to support editing. All of these materials have continued to support classroom learning on a daily basis.

Time for Kids has been a favorite of my students. We have been able to implement the readings, activities, discussions, and further explore a wide variety of topics. Materials have supported reading fluency, reading comprehension, writing skills, and creativity. Thank you again for providing funds to support student learning and development.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

  • Interactive Learning

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you for your financial support. This grant provided our classroom with a wide variety of manipulatives, board games, and hands-on-learning materials. These materials covered everything from telling time, to identifying coins, to a large assortment of English Language Arts skills. These are materials we would not have had access to otherwise.

Students have loved being able to incorporate them into our everyday lesson plans. One of the first large class activities we did was play sight word bingo. We incorporated this into our spelling and reading hour. It was a great way to test their skills and knowledge in a creative way.

Again, I am incredibly grateful for your generous support to our classroom. I know students will continue to benefit from these supplies being used in individual, small group, and whole group instruction.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

  • Binding Education Together

    Funded Jan 2, 2020

I am overwhelmed by your generosity. Your donations have allowed me to implement new strategies for teaching in my classroom. Most importantly, my students have been directly impacted on a daily basis by the outcome of this project.

Binding Together Education has provided my classroom with the supplies to make individual workbooks, binders, and creative projects. My students have been able to have access to their own resources for daily reading journals, homework packets, and even had the ability to create their very own books.

I am sincerely grateful for your support in educating students. It has made a remarkable difference on student ownership and creativity. Thank you for your support.”

  • Literacy Through Listening

    Funded Nov 20, 2019

It truly takes a village to raise a child. I am incredibly thankful for your generosity and willingness to support education. Through your donations I was able to provide my Special Education class with a listening center and set of six headphones. We have utilized the center for small group, individual, and whole class lessons.

My class has loved using our new listening center. Students have been able to listen to audible books while following along with the reading in small group settings and one-on-one. The favorite new addition to the classroom has to be the noise cancelling headphones. The students love to use them beyond reading instruction, and often incorporate them into math and history. I look forward to the progress my students will continue to make with the resources they have been given.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

The six person listening center will provide my students with access to assistive technology designed to increase literacy skills through listening. Students in my junior high special education classroom currently and for years into the future will benefit greatly from a listening center. Increased literacy skills will be the primary academic benefit. Students will increase in literacy skills such as phonological awareness, reading comprehension, and vocabulary. Reading labs involving small groups of one to six students will be implemented to provide instruction ranging from recognizing the relationship between letters and sound, to spelling, to narrative skills. The center will also be used as a way for students to independently access literature. The listening center will give the gifts of literature to my students. Gifts including the ability to travel to unknown worlds, explore human nature, and make forever friends.
