Family Game Night Part 2
Funded Mar 27, 2018Having enough supplies to make games and take home activities for our Title One Family Night made prepping projects so much easier. No one had to scramble looking for things or use plain white paper. We could make durable games on card stock and vary the type of games made.
When the families came that night, they were excited to make and play the games. The students loved being able to take home games with no missing pieces. The night was a huge success and enable the learning to continue once our school year ends.
I can't thank you enough for your kindness and generosity. I loved seeing all the parent involvement.”

Funded Apr 12, 2018It is so exciting to see our Daily 5 literacy block. The excitement of the class over the new books has been contagious. I love to hear the discussions among the students about the books they are reading. It is fantastic to see the reluctant readers find joy in reading. One of my students finished "How to be a SuperVillian" in just over a week. He would run from his reading space to the adults in the room to share what he read. This has never happened! The end of the year is no longer dreaded and students are trying to read as many books as they can. They even asked if they can borrow from our room next year in fourth grade. None of this could be possible without your kindness and generosity.”

Flexible Seating for Literacy
Funded Mar 27, 2018My class loves the new options for seating. They are used every day in our room. Having the options for wobble stools and balls make being focused on work when you need to move so much easier. I even had a student tell me he wanted to take his stool to the art room! It is nice to have a variety of choices in the classroom to help teach students responsibility. We learn and improve our social skills each day. We have also improved our kindness due to the popularity of these choices. Life is easier in third grade thanks to your help and support.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018Our students love BrainPop and BrainPop Jr. They enjoy watching the movies and taking the quizzes. My class was so excited to watch the Perimeter video during our math lesson yesterday. I couldn't believe when they begged to take the "Hard Quiz". Knowing this resource is available for the whole year makes planning easier. This impacts all students in our school as all teachers access the content. We even use the Video of the Day as a talking point during morning circles. I love that the videos are in many content areas and at two different levels. Your kindness enables our students to meet so many standards in a fun way.”

Funded Mar 13, 2018I am so excited to get these headphones. Having them fund and arrive just before testing season is perfect timing. Knowing that all students will have new, working headphones for this important time is priceless. We will be issuing the headphones to each student and storing them separately. No more sharing headphones in the lab! Each student will be responsible for the care of one set of headphones. By using them this way, students will have ownership and learn responsibility. These new headphones are such a blessing as we have been taping some together this year to have enough for a complete set in our computer lab.”

Funded Feb 16, 2018My third grade class was so excited to see the boxes from Amazon. They shriek and work together to get them all open. I can't believe how excited they were for new clipboards and white boards. We use the whiteboards every day! It is great to see the students go and get a white board and marker when they are working independently. Having a class set of markers, boards and erasers has eliminated squabbles over who gets the eraser first. Many times students lay on the floor to work and the clipboards make this easier. They also love the write the room and task card scavenger hunts we do. These supplies have quickly proven to be invaluable. Thank you!”

Funded Jan 25, 2018Who would have thought that third graders would get so excited for Clorox Wipes and boxes of Kleenex? My kids were so happy to get the boxes of supplies. They talked about how clean our room would be and then someone said and "we can all be in school if the germs are gone."
Our class had been using toilet paper to blow our noses. The soft Kleenex make this chore so much more pleasant. We have been battling cold and flu season so these supplies came at a Great time. My class had it correct with the comment on being in school if the germs are gone. Spontaneous science lessons are the best.
Thank you for helping keep the germs out of our room.”

Funded Dec 14, 2017Thanks so much for getting these books for our classroom! Many of them have become the "weekly text" for our literacy block. We used them for whole group, small group and individual reading. These books have quickly been put in student book boxes, read, talked about and shared. The students like that the books are so many new genres. It is so rewarding to to see my students excited about books. Hearing them talk to each other about the books and why they like them warms my heart. These books are a welcome addition to our classroom library. The class wouldn't be this excited without your help.”

Playing with Math
Funded Nov 28, 2017I can't believe the difference having these math games has made! The students are excited for our Math block. Many of them choose to do Math with Someone first so they can play games with a friend. Having the new games keeps learning fun. The double dice have been used to practice facts. We can add, subtract and multiply with them. Knowing I have the resources need ed to make lessons meaningful has made planning less stressful. Lessons are engaging and relevant. My third grade students are excited to learn the math skill of the day.”

Restocking our Classroom
Funded Dec 8, 2017These markers and colored pencils have made such a difference in our classroom. The third graders are excited to do projects! They no longer grumble when a learning activity includes coloring as they have options. It is fun to see the variety of colors used. As I plan, I know that I can include artsy activities to improve our learning as we have the needed supplies and don't need to just use crayons anymore. Our collaborative projects are all the same shade now. We have have gotten so many compliments on the door displays.
We use the composition notebooks daily in our math block. Who knew how much fun math writing could be? We are able to solve problems and explain our thinking so we can share with others
Thank you for helping out our third grade classroom.”
