  • Keeping Struggling Students Engaged and Learning

    Funded Jul 31, 2024

Words cannot describe how overwhelmed and thankful I am right now. I want to be the best teacher I can be to my students and these resources will help me to do that. I am so excited to start this school year off strong, and it's all thanks to you and your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Araujo

  • Comfortable Seating for All

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! My students are going to be so excited to see the stools replaced, the old ones have gotten pretty torn up and wobbly from how much they were used. Providing a variety of seating options has allowed my students to be comfortable while working, which has a huge affect on their academics. Thank you again!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Araujo

Thank you so much for your generosity! I am so excited to use these materials next year and make learning more meaningful for my students. Especially the students who would rather be anywhere but at school. I'm especially excited about the project based learning projects. Again, thank you so much!”

  • New Kitchen Supplies

    Funded Mar 22, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity! Your donation has helped us make our school kitchen feel more like a "real" kitchen. We have all of the materials we need to make some amazing food! We haven't had the chance to put it all away yet, we're still in awe of everything we received. We have also had to keep some of the staff members out of the kitchen so they won't bring stuff home. ; )

We are so thankful that you found our project and donated towards it. Our students are incredibly appreciative!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Araujo

  • Helping Our Garden Grow

    Funded May 1, 2023

Thank you so much for your generosity. Because of you and your donations we were able to expand our school garden so we can utilize the space better. The students are so excited to see their plants grow, and are especially excited to see them climb the arches this project funded. We won't be able to see the full effect until later in the summer, but for now we are able to prep for all the amazing vegetables we will grow, and imagine what we can do with the vegetables when they are ready to cultivate.

    Again, thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Araujo

  • Building Relationships Through Food

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations, they are greatly appreciated. Students food insecurities have grown over the years and students have been shown to be less successful the hungrier they are. The students in my classroom are often part of this group. The snack boxes have helped students to pay attention better in class, stay in class because they don't have to go to the lunchroom for food, and earn better grades.

The other positive of having these snacks in my classroom is that I am able to check in with students who I may not normally see. I'm building stronger relationships with my students thanks to your generosity.”

  • Graphic Novels for Struggling Students

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness. This school year I have encountered something I haven't had to manage before, not having books to interest and engage my freshman. Thanks to you I now have books that make them want to read and talk about it.

Graphic novels have helped me engage my students in ways I wasn't sure I would be able to. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief has allowed us to talk about the hero's journey, compare myths, and research gods and goddesses. The shorter, easier to read novels have allowed my juniors to be successful in completing a book without feeling like the book is a baby book.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Araujo

The students I work with rarely feel like they belong anywhere, whether it's with the rest of the school population in the school or at home. My hope is to make a setting for them where they can take ownership of their learning because they feel like they are respected and listened to. The connections I have made with them is just the beginning. These connections have shown me how much they appreciate small things like comfortable balance chairs and fidget toys. Listening to them I understand how large books are intimidating but short stories are much easier to tackle. Your donations will show my students that I am not the only person who cares about them, respects them, and wants the best for them. I have set up my classroom the best I can with the resources that I have, but they deserve so much more.
