Express Ourselves
Funded Oct 4, 2021When Ms. Eileen brought the box into our classroom the students gravitated toward her. I told them I didn't have time to open it just then, however, I could after rest time. The anticipation was apparent so during lunch we took turns guessing what might be in the box. The only information they had to go on was the size of the box and that it was to use to play with in our classroom. Here are a few of the answers - A guessed dolls, E guessed cars, G guessed instruments and R guessed trains.
When I opened it I heard G say "doctor" and J say "mio" amongst their ooo's and ahaha's. U and L took the insert to the box and utilized it in their scenario where the girl got hurt and the police officer came to help her. G and H played with several of the people as a family going to the park.
Presently, we are exploring tubes and tunnels in various capacities i.e. tubes of paint, tunnels made from cardboard boxes, making tube (straw) necklaces, and animal tunnels (burrows) in real dirt. We have been using the people for on "top" of our underground where the burrowing animals live.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for these people and for the experience which supports our well being.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Jenn
