I teach 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade science at an inner city school in Washington, DC. This is my second year teaching after a 12-year career in public relations, but my first year teaching elementary science. My first year teaching was the most challenging and rewarding year of my life. The trials that my kids went through never were lost on me. Many had seen more in their young lives than most of us can imagine, yet they came to school ready to learn. I feel that my role is to build a classroom culture that inspires all students, gives them new opportunities, builds their excitement for science and provides a stable, kind and loving environment. Thank you for considering our project!
