Right now when you walk into my classroom you get lost in a sea of desks and chairs. I have 30 mismatched desks that shift around as students and teachers navigate the room. The desks are arranged into 6 groups of 5 to facilitate group work and projects but the bulkiness of the desks makes it very difficult. Having tables would open up the whole space and create a safer, more comfortable environment. Students would have flexible seating options allowing for choice and ownership over their learning. I am asking for 6 tables and pads for underneath our chairs to reduce the noise as they move around. Tables would truly transform the lives of all 30 learners who currently spend 7 hours a day, 5 days a week in a classroom with furniture too large for the space.
