  • Computer Science Certifications

    Funded May 3, 2024

Thank you for your donation to help me determine which program is the most efficient computer programing curriculum. The learning programs computer compatability is a big issue as well. Without test driving the content, it is hard to determine which is the most effective. Just because computer science curriculum is approved and or recommended, doesn't mean its compatible with all school computers nor does it mean the curriculum is well organized to ensure maximum understanding. Thank you for your support.”

  • Stocking Our Food Pantry Boxes

    Funded Dec 13, 2023

My students were able to use the supplies to fill all three food pantry boxes. The supplies arrived immediately before big winter storm. The supplies helped keep many people feed while the stores were closed, or food was unavailable. The students have several boxes of noodles and tuna fish left. This will help us keep the pantries stocked for another month or two.

Thank you for supporting my students and their community care impact projects. This is the third year for the students to maintain the food pantry boxes.”

  • Create Your Own Children's Book

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you for the donations and support to my project. The book and comic book kits will be used as an incentive throughout the school year. Students that show potential in creative writing, artistic abilities, design, and layout will have the opportunity to create their own hardback book or comic book. These hardback books and comic books will be available to all students in the school library that is allied to the books aimed grade level.

This will give students a first hand experience in the creative experience of writing a book. Again, thank you for your support.”

  • Care Package for the Local Homeless Population

    Funded Apr 4, 2023

Thank you for your very kind and generous donations for my student's community impact project. The items were directly donated to the local homeless coalition. Our state had recently had two server tornados impact several communities. So, the care packages we built with the supplies you help provide were able to make an impact and a major difference in a lot of people's lives. Some of these people had just lost everything in the tornados. So, these care packages were needed and appreciated. Thank you again for helping us make this community project as successful as possible.”

Out of the students that participated, two of my Jobs for American Graduate students won 8th place Nationally in the Lifting Our Voices for Equity, LOVE, project and one student won 6th place Nationally in the Financial Literacy competition. Thank you for your support.”

  • Camera for Student Motivation

    Funded Jan 14, 2023

Sometimes students can be unmotivated to earn certifications. In my opinion, this is due to the fact that not all students fully understand life outside of high school and how tough the workforce can be. Therefore, as a teacher students can be more resistant leaners because the certifications are not mandatory to pass the class. However, with the camera I can post student certifications with a photo attached to help increase moral and motivation students to go above and beyond the basic requirements. Thank you for the donation to help me purchase the cameras and film.”

  • Game Development Certification for Computer Science

    Funded Dec 5, 2022

Thank you for helping my students gain access to advanced computer science curriculum, programing platform, videos, interactive learning assignments, and gaming coding platforms. My students have the extra support, resources and program to explore, learn and master video game computer programing. The students have access to Gmetrix to help them learn, explore and master their skills. The students use Unity Hub to program and practice their coding skills. The students will take a certification exam when they have completed the programming coursework.”

  • Bike Locks for the New Bike Rack

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you for donating to your community impact project. The goal of this project is to provide bicycle riders with a safe and secure place to park and lock their bikes. Students should have an equitable place to park at school, no matter their method of transportation.

Students were unable to park their bikes in the parking lot due to the high number of vehicles. Students shouldn't have to forfeit security just so people can park their cars. This project helped the JAG students provide those students the ride bikes a safe place to park and lock their bikes.”

  • Microsoft Office Projects

    Funded Dec 23, 2022

Thank you for supporting our new CTE teacher by supplying him with $200 in Teacher Pay Teacher gift cards. He purchased material to help him teach Microsoft Office Apps such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Having the correct resources can make teaching easer, especially a first-year teacher. The resources consist of student projects that are linked to the state standards. The projects require the student to use skills they have learned in the programs. It's harder for students to master the skills if they don't have projects to apply the skills they are learning.”

  • Supplies for Food Panty Box

    Funded Sep 18, 2022

Thank you for donating some of the necessary supplies needed to keep the food pantry boxes stocked for students and community members. The food pantry boxes are placed strategically to help maximize the use from students. When the students started the food pantry boxes, students were the main target population. As the students prepared to execute this project, they decided to place one food pantry box in a location that appropriate for students on each side of town.

The students work on restocking the food pantry boxes every two or three weeks. The supplies provided by kind doners like you make a huge impact on the success of the projects. Thank you”

My JAG students are learning what it takes to make a successful community. To help make a positive impact in the community, the students will create care packages to pass out to homeless people. Learning how to care for other people, how to be positive members of society, and how to be compassionate is vital in the world we live in. We envision a world in which compassionate action will become a transformative energy, motivating individuals and communities to care for each other, to relieve suffering wherever it is found, and to connect to other communities’ members to ensure well-being for all. My JAG students are seeking the opportunity to make positive compassionate actions that will cause ripples throughout community. By teaching the students how to be compassionate and responsible, it will become part of their lifestyles and culture. This is an essential part of building a community of practice. JAG requires 10 hours of service learning per students each year. A great way to achieve this benchmark is through the use of a service learning project. By implementing a service learning project, I am achieving a goal of the Career Association and benefiting your community through the JAG Competencies. Developing the core characteristics of who we are as individuals requires self-exploration, reflection and recognition of future aspirations. In this PBL, students will have the opportunity to research character traits, identify their own values and goals and try to align those goals with a career area that fits their interest.
