  • Building Blocks

    Funded Dec 23, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students are working hard to explore buildings using the tools you have sent. They have made castles and school buildings out of sand and h an explored community buildings in our neighborhood with the nesting buildings. They really enjoy sorting the cars and people according to their jobs and making sure they get to the right building to work. We have also used the stapler to hang our art projects about buildings and to hang pictures of buildings from around the world. Thank you so much!”

    With gratitude,

  • Essential Supplies!

    Funded Jan 24, 2023

Thank you so much for the much needed essential items. Our room is popping with colors as we use the crayons, colored paper and popsicle sticks for our artistic creations. We have made so many beautiful projects, from fish swimming in the sea to gardens growing all around us. The children continue to explore sand and its properties as they dig, scoop and pile up the sand to make sand castles, find hidden objects and so much more. Thank you again for your generosity it keeps us going, learning and growing.”

  • Sensory Sensation

    Funded Sep 12, 2022

My students have not stopped exploring their sense of touch since we got the materials from your donations. The excitement as they touch the different textures and make impressions in the sand is so real that it is almost tangible. They have improved their language skills as they describe what they feel and touch. They have sorted items by texture as they pull them out of the sand. It is truly amazing to see the discoveries they have made. Thank you so much for you support. It really means so much to us.”

  • Authors in Training!

    Funded Jan 24, 2022

The room has explode with storytellers and authors, thanks to all you wonderful generous donations. The children use the microphones at the puppet theatre to act out stories. Then they go to their tables to draw and write about all the fun activities, stories and discoveries they have made during center time. They are so excited to draw and write like the big kids. Every time they open their journals their imaginations and writing abilities grow. Thank you all for your continuous support. It means a great deal to my students to see that people care about their educational needs. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • Science Supreme

    Funded Nov 4, 2021

We are so excited to have gotten all the wonderful new science tools. We have begun to use the touch board, sound capsules and touch capsules to explore our five senses. The children have had lots of fun trying to guess what is in the capsules. They marvel in wonder as the colors appear on the touch board. Today one of the children was curious if the colors would appear by placing their foot on the touch board. Well I told them try it out and we will see. They took off their shoes and whoa their footprint magically appeared. Hmmm I wonder how that happens? Other children used their problem solving skills to build cars and planes with the bristle blocks. What parts do we need? How can I make the wings? So many questions, a great deal of learning and a ton of fun!!!!

    Thank you, love

  • Math Center Makeover!

    Funded Jun 19, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation. It has made it possible for my students to explore and learn math in an exciting way. We still have to open a few more of your wonderful manipulatives and the excitement continues to build as we introduce each activity. You can't begin to imagine the joy on our students faces as they sort, count and make patterns with the brand new manipulatives that your generous donations have brought to our classroom. Thank you so much for all you do for us. Our gratitude is endless!!”

  • Writing Wonders!

    Funded Apr 3, 2021

Ooh, wow, Mrs. Blaustein. Lots of laughter and excitement, these are the sounds that filled my classroom as I introduced each new writing activity for our writing center. Prior to receiving these new and exciting materials, the writing center was the last center picked by my students. Many days the center would remain empty. Now it is the first center to fill up and the other students all groan and complain that they want a turn. Thank you so much for helping me create an inviting and exciting writing center.”

  • Dive into Waterworks

    Funded Oct 26, 2020

My students are fascinated by the water wall. They are moving around the pieces to see how the water path changes as they move the pieces. This month we have started learning about family. I put the pretend play cleaning materials in the water center. The students have been busy filling the spritz bottle and cleaning everything in sight. I also added some pots and pans for them to scrub. They have begun to have conversations. Telling each other what is dirty and what to clean. It is so cute to watch them as they roll play cleaning their homes and it is amazing to see their language develop. I can't wait to start putting out the other materials that you all were so gracious in donating. I wonder what those materials will spark in their imaginations. Thank you so much for your continuous support. We are so very grateful.”

  • Motor Power!

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your support and kindness means so much to us. We were so excited to begin using the materials you sent and strengthen our fine motor skills. We made little fish out of play dough, used the scissors to cut paper and molded the sand into many different shapes. We didn't get to use all the materials as of yet but we are looking forward to using them when we return to school after our unexpected vacation. We hope that you and your families stay safe in this trying times. Enjoy this time with your family. Thank you again.”

Hi! My name is Malka Blaustein and I have been a Pre-k teacher for 9 years. I love teaching this grade because they learn and grow so much within this one year. It is amazing to see the difference between when they start the school year and the continuous growth I see throughout the year. When they leave my classroom in June, they are no longer dependent on adults for everything. They have learned to try their best and to do things on their own. They know that when they try their best they will learn and that anything is possible.
