Online and Virtual Learning Materials
Funded Apr 2, 2021Thank you so much for donating to our classroom project. We were able to purchase online classroom materials that we utilized during our virtual learning during the school year. This helped to enhance our learning as we navigated our new way of learning.
The children were so excited to play online games, virtual worksheets, and videos. As a teacher I loved the easy ways for me to enhance the curriculum I was teaching.
The best part of these resources is that we will be able to continually use them year after year. As we move into a new school year, I will be able to use these resources to strengthen our in person learning as well.
Thank you so much for your support during this challenging year!”

Distance Learning Materials and Activities
Funded Oct 19, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity! This year has been a challenge for all of the teachers and families in our district. We have been doing remote learning since March 2020. For the last year we have had to learn new technology and ways to learn. Our students have worked hard to get where they are at during this time.
We as teachers have been working to take curriculum and adapt it to online learning. This has not been simple. Much of the curriculum that we have is not conducive to the types of technology our students have and the platforms that we use. This project was used to help supplement the curriculum that we have. We were able to purchase activities and resources that we could use to help enhance our teaching and our students learning. These resources have taken some of the stress of recreating so many things we normally use in the classroom.
We are so grateful for your donations and support this school year.”

Virtual Science
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your donations to our project. This has been an extremely interesting and challenging year. Our school district has been full remote since March of 2020. As teachers we are looking for creative and innovated ways to help engage our students in the content areas. Generation Genius is a website that has brought some excitement back to our science curriculum. The students look forward to watching the videos in class and learning about the science topics in new and interesting ways.
We are unable to complete the many science experiments that we normally do in class, but with Generation Genius simple experiments are introduced to the students and they are able to complete them at home if they way. As a teacher I appreciate the science text and real world examples that are provided.
We are so thankful for having this extra resource to engage our students. Thank you so much for your generosity and support this school year!”

Funded Jul 17, 2020Thank you so much for your donations. These materials are helping our students to be successful learners at home. During this time our school is doing one hundred percent virtual learning. Our students login each day from home to attend class. This has been a huge change for us and for some it has been an extreme struggle.
These materials have allowed our students to have a little piece of school at home. We call these materials our traveling desks. They have all of the materials that they would have in their classroom desks at home. It helps them to stay organized and to be prepared to learn, even from the safety of home.”

Becoming Active Citizens Through Reading
Funded Jan 16, 2019Thank you so much for your deep generosity. The books that our classroom received will allow us to continue our research and learning about active citizens. We have already learned so much as a whole class, but with these books we will be able to break into small groups to read and learn at our own reading levels. The students are using these books to learn more about different types of active citizens from our past and around the world. As they are reading they will put together a PowerPoint and a video describing to their classmates about the person or groups of people they are learning about. They will then share that information with the entire class. These books allow the students to use authentic texts as part of their research. They are not solely relying on Internet research. This brings another depth to the reading and research process, it is helping them to learn how to look a multiple and different types of sources.
The excitement that I have seen on my students faces from the time that we opened the book boxes has brought me great joy. I love seeing they pleasure they get from new books! They are extremely excited to learn more about this topic and get started on their projects.
We thank you for taking the time to think about our classroom and for impacting our classroom in such a generous way!”

Ms. Albrecht

Funded Oct 2, 2016We are so grateful for your donations of a listening library and carpet squares. Young children need exciting and new ways to learn everyday. Many of the students in our school building are English Language Learners. One of the language skills that they acquire first is listening. By providing them with age appropriate books to listen to, in the classroom, we are helping them to grow their English language skills as well as helping them to identify proper sentence structure skills. The students have enjoyed finding quiet corners around the room to listen to the different books. They use the carpet squares to get comfortable and to help identify that is their learning space.
I have seen my students enjoyment for reading increase over the past few weeks. They are enthralled in the new books and cannot wait for more!! Thank you so much for your kind donations and for helping my students to continue to grow in their learning.”

Math with Technology
Funded Dec 14, 2015Thank you so much for your donations to our classroom. The technological field is growing every single day. By adding tablets to our classroom my students are learning how to incorporate important skills into their everyday learning. We are using the tablets to enhance memory of math facts, introducing problem solving skills by playing games and interactive websites, as well as using the tablets to incorporate partner and communication skills by allowing the students to create visual models together and present them to the entire class.
My students write about how much they enjoy using the tablets because to them their learning has become entertaining and more interactive the ever before. They are engaged in the things that they are doing, which gets them excited to learn more.
We are extremely appreciative of your donations and cannot wait to continue to use our new tablets in the classroom.”

Funded Oct 27, 2014Thank you so much for donating to our classroom!! We are finally able to save all of the work that we do on the computers. My students are thrilled to be able to take their work home with them and continue the projects they have been working so hard on. They have mention that the flash drives are like MAGIC!!!
These flash drives have allowed me to further my students education and give them opportunities they may not have had until middle school. We are able to use the computers and flash drives to publish works of writing, create novels, learn all about graphs and maps, as well as share our work with other classrooms.
We truly appreciate your donation and can't wait to continue to use the flash drives throughout the school year!!”

Listening to Reading
Funded Sep 19, 2013Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. We are very appreciative of your kindness and generosity. These resources are going to impact my students in many ways. As English Language Learners my students learn to listen to the way that English is spoken and use that to help guide them in their own comprehension, understanding, writing, and speaking. It is very important for the them to have many examples of spoken English. Not only is it good for them to listen to me speak, but by listening to stories on CD they will have the opportunity to different styles of speech.
The children are extremely excited to use the CD players in class. They love having their own choice when it comes to what they read. By having personal CD players they will be able to complete these tasks independently and of their own interest levels. We will use these items during our guided reading time.
By having the children work independently I will be able to work with small groups of students to help enhance their reading and comprehension skills. It is very important for me to have the students that I am not working with be able to complete tasks on their own so that I can have my entire focus on my small group. These CD players will come in handy!!”

Ms. Albrecht
