I believe that reading is the gateway to learning. Cultivating a positive relationship with reading is essential to student success. Without a dedicated environment for children to actively enjoy reading in, their access to 90% of the curriculum is limited. By offering a range of seating options, students will be able to read in the best way for their learning style. Having soft seats, weighted seating, fitness balls, and wiggle seats helps students to read in a way that best suits them. Having noise cancelling headphones and study carrels will help to block out distractions, so they can continue to learn. Colored masking tape, loose leaf rings, and sheet protectors will help to set up their classroom and make it easy to navigate through centers, daily work, and independent work.
