Our students are from a lower middle class neighborhood. There are nearly 3,000 students of which, 15% are English learners and 57% are low income. The parents are blue collar workers who raise their children to work hard. Our students are high achievers and do not let circumstance keep them from their goals. Due to budget cuts within our state of California, many resources are depleting. Music and the arts are the hardest hit. It is becoming more difficult to attain their goals. Any help they can get will give them the opportunity to rise to the occasion and become the future leaders I know them to be.
