In our fast-paced technology-driven world, trying to find a cozy and tranquil spot becomes a race to find the best spot on the small area rug and the opportunity to lay on the 4 fluffy pillows available. By having a varied and numerous selection of pillows and more space from two shaggy carpets my students will be able to fully immerse themselves in a world of dual reading possibilities as if they were at home nestled in a place of warmth and imagination. The ideal plan to continue enhancing the reading and writing environment that my students can benefit from is to provide the essential elements that’ll keep them engaged, comfortable, and motivated. The items selected for our classroom were chosen by my students because they will be used by the students! This project will continue to increase their stamina and growing love for reading and writing. The two area rugs and 16 pillows will help create two additional group areas where the students can discuss or share their thoughts during Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop. These specific area opportunities facilitate students abilities to work collaboratively and independently, especially in a classroom that requires a lot of higher order thinking.
