Cubbies and Book Organization!
Funded Sep 18, 2024We were able to have a bin for each one of our students to put their personal items and spare clothes. We have two sessions of preschool, and these bins really keep these two groups separated and organized, the students love seeing their picture and know exactly which bin is theirs.
Our book shelf was pretty disorganized before because there wasn't actually a divider that separate the categories. With your donations of divider labels, we were able to organize our books. This helped us pull out books for our theme or unit of study.
Thank you for generous donation!”

Funded Aug 14, 2024You really helped our classroom environment. Our classroom circle time carpet and book stand has been used every single day. While it wasn't noticeable to the students, but parents and teachers loved the circle time carpet! The kids love that they get their own square, they do yoga, and circle time skill that they apply to everyday life. It is crucial to a pre-k that students are not sitting in front of each other and is able to see. This really helped our classroom run smoothly. Many stories and lessons were shared on our book stand as well. Thank you so much for your donation!”

Funded Sep 20, 2022We are so grateful for your donation to our classroom. Many of you continue to support and continuously donate or make an effort to reach out to see how the school year is going and if there's anything we need. Our book club started early november and we currently are reading El Deafo. From our reading, the character struggled with accepting that friends due to the way she is treated for wearing a hearing aid. She goes through trial and error of wanting and not wanting to try out sign language. Many of our students struggle with social emotional needs and they see themselves in these stories. Thank you for the many more book clubs to come throughout my teaching journey.”

Funded Sep 13, 2021Happy New Year! We have made great use of the water bottles you purchased for you on top of the other materials. Due to Covid, we are not allowed to use the drinking fountains and those water bottles made a huge difference.
Mental health days are important here at Chinook Middle School. With the rising cases of omicron, we stepped up our game to provide more mental health days in our advisory classroom. The students were able to have a choice of craft they can do alone or with their peers. Many of them chose to use the clay as their project for the day. We enjoyed every bit of all that you have provided us! Many smiles went home during our mental health days!
Thank you!”

Funded Mar 3, 2021What a year it has been for us all. I want to thank you for all the materials that allowed my students to feel a sense of normalcy. Many of our students lacked adequate internet to engage in online learning. I knew that when we returned to the classroom, I wanted to have materials that they felt that was their own. That they didn't have to share with a siblings or other members in their house hold.
We were able to use your materials to bring us together. That also meant more time socializing and playing games. Something we all needed after a year of quarantine. We were also able to give each child individual materials so that we can remove the barrier of pandemic life and saying this is yours and you do not have to share. We are one day out to closing out the school year. I want you to know that your generous donation has helped us tremendously and we can't thank you enough for your kindness.”

Funded Mar 6, 2021We are one day away from the end of the school year. We've had an amazing year despite the pandemic. When we got back in person, your generous donation allowed my students to have materials that gives them access to differentiated instruction, as well as 1:1 support in different areas of math.
I can't thank you enough for the contribution to our classroom. My students are showing tremendous growth in money math. The curriculum helped me break down step by step instruction. Students who struggled with basic math facts are now able to add using skills they learned from the curriculum. I am so proud of the progress that my students have made in math and I can't wait to use the curriculum again next year.”

Funded Sep 10, 2019Thank you for bringing so much life into my classroom. It is only December and we've built a strong bond and relationship as a classroom. We were able to bond because of the materials that we have received. The students wanted me to tell you thank you so much for their favorite uno, monopoly game, and origami. It has been a great motivator for them after a long task. We can not thank you enough for the support. The next steps for my classroom project is a plastic project. They are so excepted to show case their learning with the motivation on using the wonderful gel pens you have provided. Wishing you a happy holiday filled with gratitude from Ms. Nguyen's classroom.”

Funded Mar 14, 2019I wish you would've seen the excitement on my students faces when they have received their own binders, colors, mechanical pencils, sharpeners, pouch, and pencils. They were shocked that they had these materials for their math classroom and were happy that they didn't have to carry their materials around from class to class. As I have described, we do not have lockers. So you can imagine the impact you have made by taking a whole class of weight of their shoulders. And for me as a teacher, I never have to hear "I don't have a pencil" because I have held my students by being responsible for the materials in their binder.
My students have been using the new resources to organize their materials. Most of the students goals are organization. Each tab labels if it is a daily task, exit ticket, summative, or formative assessment. This is huge because I work with students who have individual education goals. We also use the resources for projects such as posters for presentation and highlighting important events. We are also highlighting our best work in our portfolio to showcase at conferences. Our next step is to continue our best work and improve our learning one step at a time will skills needed to be successful such as organization and daily task.
Thank you for all you have done!”

Fund Some Fun for the Classroom
Funded Jan 27, 2019I can not thank you enough for the board games, pencils, and sharpener we have received from your donation. My students absolutely enjoy the early dismissal days. Those short days allow us to catch up on unfinished work and reward students who are completely done with getting to play a game and socializing with their peers.
I teach a math learning strategy class with students who have specific learning disabilities. These students need opportunities to add, subtract, divide, and multiply. These games give them an opportunity to target those skills. It also provides them opportunities to think critically and making decision that will impact outcome of the game.
Pencils have been a scarce source in our school, as well as an excuse of work avoidance. The pencil and sharpener has stayed in the classroom and begin the no excuse rule to not having tools to write. Everything is now in the classroom and ready for students to learn.
We greatly appreciate your support for making learning more fun and available for our students.”

Ms. Nguyen
