  • Basic Supplies for Bussin' Kids

    Funded Sep 10, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donations! We have been extremely busy this year creating anchor charts with the chart paper and markers, finding text evidence in books and articles with the highlighters, correcting dictados (dictations) with our erasable pens, doing a lot of writing in general with our pencils, and cleaning up messes with the wipes, napkins, and tissue you so kindly helped us get.

While all the supplies have been extremely useful, my students especially loved the pens and I am currently in the process of purchasing more in case the ones we have now start to go missing as they always joke they will! Sometimes we don't really think about how the little things can make a classroom more special, but you have helped me create a better environment for my seventh graders.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Diaz

  • Excited to Read--Books Are All We Need!

    Funded Nov 26, 2024

Thank you so much for bringing this project to life! I picked titles that are popular now as well as classics I loved when I was in school and it was amazing to see the joy on my students' faces when I showed them all to them.

One of my students already began reading the book Dry, while another picked a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird in English. This is exciting because they are nearing the end of their journey in elementary school and having previous knowledge of these amazing titles will ensure they are ahead of the game.

Once again, thank you for your generous donations to our class!”

  • The Very Hungry Kindergartners

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for providing so many different options for snacks for our classroom! Though some of my students are lucky enough to be able to bring snacks from home, many of them can not and five hours (from lunch time until the end of the day) seem eternal for hungry five-year-olds.

Now my students know that when they don't have a snack from home or from our "sharing fridge" (where we keep leftover breakfast items provided by the school), they can simply ask for a snack from our closet and no one goes home hungry.

Once again, thank you for all of your support!”

  • Holiday Joy for Every Girl and Boy!

    Funded Dec 18, 2021

Thank you so much for giving my students some holiday cheer! Due to unforeseen circumstances, they were not in the classroom until after the holidays, but many of their parents were able to stop by school to pick up a little bag with treats, small gifts, and homework, and parents seemed to appreciate the gesture just as much as students did.

Had it not been for your generous donations, I would not have been able to give my students as many goodies as I was able to this time around. You filled 26 hearts with joy—mine included!”

  • A Place to Put Remote Learning Supplies

    Funded May 17, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me get new backpacks for my kindergarten students! I hadn't seen them in almost three months aside from virtual meetings, so I decided to do house visits as a way to encourage them to continue working hard these last couple of weeks of remote learning.

Needless to say, they were shocked when they saw I had gifts for them. I received many messages letting me know how much they had loved their backpacks, and a few even told me while I was there that the design on their backpacks were their favorite animals.

I know this year was cut short due to the quarantine, but I am hopeful that once in a while when my students look at their backpack, they will remember me and smile. Once again, thank you!”

  • Do You Hear What I Hear?

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

Whether we are using the radio to learn songs, listening to some of our favorite books being read, or simply playing a quick game of freeze dance to get some movement in, a CD player is an essential part of our day in kindergarten.

When our CD player/stereo stopped working, my students could no longer listen to the songs that are a part of their social-emotional learning curriculum and they could no longer fulfill an activity that is part of their daily 5 routine. Thanks to your generosity, the trouble was short-lived and we soon had a replacement!

My students have used the CD player/stereo every day since receiving it. Needless to say, we really appreciate your kindness!”

  • This Little Piggie Went to Kindergarten

    Funded Mar 12, 2020

Thank you so much for helping me bring this project to life. My students are very interested in reading, but their interests are different, so it’s important to have a variety of titles in our library. Thanks to your generosity, my students will have a plethora of eye-catching books to choose from so they can continue their journey as emergent readers.

    Once again, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Diaz

  • Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader

    Funded Mar 2, 2020

Words cannot express how grateful we are for your support. My students love being read to, but more recently they have gotten into the phase where they love reading independently because they actually understand print! Just today one of my students was sitting in the library and I heard him exclaim, “I love books!”

I can’t wait to share the great news with them and hear these great stories being read!”

  • Picture Perfect STEM in Kindergarten

    Funded Mar 19, 2019

Words cannot explain how grateful we are for your support! Thanks to your generous donation, we now have necessary resources to focus on STEAM in our classroom. This year's group of students is particularly interested in reading and constantly asks to visit our library. They especially love our science books and even seem disappointed when I tell them it's time to clean up.

Although we have not yet used the batteries, copper foil, or LED lights due to working on another unit, I know they will love the lessons I have planned for them and can't wait to see this project come to life!”

  • Coughs and Sneezes Spread Diseases

    Funded Aug 23, 2019

All of the resources we received have already come in very handy. Band-Aids, for example, are needed just about every day; there are more minor cuts/scrapes in kindergarten than you can imagine! Our Kleenex has also been a life saver, as we have had a couple of nosebleeds and the napkins we are provided by our school are tough on little noses.

Students love the idea of hole punch cards and are extremely careful not to lose them. If I forget to give them a hole punch at the end of the day, I have at least three students that make sure to remind me. They also love the scented stickers and spend the day asking others to sniff them! It's really refreshing to see how something so small can bring so much joy to a child...and I owe that all to you! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,
