  • Healthy! Happy! and Feelin´ Good!

    Funded Dec 2, 2024

I teach a group of self-contained students with multiple disabilities. More than half of my students come from low income households. Most of my students have three of more siblings and live with a single parent. It is often difficult for my students to get the supplies they need to feel clean and good about themselves. Several of my students need to share their belongings with others and don't have much to call their own.

This donation gives my students something's to call their own. The items will be packaged in individual toiletry bags that I have purchased with my personal money. We will have a discussion on routines and ways to feel good about themselves everyday. Along with the donated items I have some other self-care items I also purchased for them. My students will have a self-check list to understand accountability.

This donation is going to impact the daily lives of my students in the utmost positive ways. We are so grateful for you donors and all you contribute to support OUR future leaders.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ruiz

  • STEM-Sational Learning!

    Funded Oct 8, 2024

Your gift has gone such a long way in our classroom. On the day that the package was delivered to the classroom, the students were all wondering what could be inside.

Together, we opened up the package. Students eyes gleamed with excitement as soon as they saw their new classroom set of headphones. immediately they wanted to try them out and so they did. They thought that the quality of the headphones was awesome and being able to choose from a variety of colors suited each of their individual interest.

Of course that wasn't all though. The next thing they opened was a large box

of magna tiles and science lab glasses. They were all just so excited about receiving new and fun supplies. Before I knew it, I had students listening with their new headphones, while wearing their science glasses, and playing with magna tiles all at once. They just couldn't help themselves.

I explained to them what donors choose is and how it works. My students didn't believe that strangers would be donating so much money to supply their classroom with new supplies. The joy and excitement resulting from this project being funded is what matters the most. These students really deserved this experience, and new supplies. It is all in thanks to you.”

  • Lounging with a Good Book

    Funded Oct 8, 2024

    My students were in shock

To see that our old, yucky rug had be replaced with this beautiful modern rug. They couldn't believe how clean and big it was.

The students are truly enjoying their new cozy library. They say how super cool the rug is and often want to do their work on it.

We have been finding ourselves very often, completing small group lessons and engaging in stem activities on the rug.

I explained to them that this rug was a gift from several people who supported some of our classroom needs. They couldn't believe how kind some people can be. We are also so grateful.”

  • Working with Cool Tools

    Funded Oct 31, 2018

My class was so excited when they saw a large package delivered to our classroom. Students immediately volunteered to assist in unpacking their new supplies and goodies. Students were responsible in creating a designated home and space to house all of their supplies. Immediately students took initiative to laminate some of their special writing pieces. We are more than grateful to have had such a positive experience with this project. My students are looking forward to creating future projects. Thank you kindly!

I work in an integrated co-teaching environment where I teach special education students with multiple needs. Unfortunately, my school does not have the funding to provide my classroom with a separate round table for small group instruction and accommodations to meet their special needs. With a small round table my students will have the ability to work aside the teacher for most explicit learning experiences. In addition to this, my school also does not have a laminating machine accessible to teachers. My students require multiple manipulatives on a daily basis. Being able to laminate the manipulatives will make products reusable.
