Funded Dec 5, 2024When we introduced the new crepe-making materials, my students' eyes lit up with excitement! They couldn't wait to dive into the project. We decided to turn it into a cross-curricular lesson. For example, we explored the history and cultural significance of crepes in French cuisine. Then, we tackled measurements and conversion while preparing the batter. Watching their curiosity and engagement grow was truly heartwarming.
One memorable moment was when we had the 'Crepe Party.' Each student got to flip a crepe, and there was a lot of cheering and laughter as they perfected their technique. It became a fun and interactive way for them to learn about French culture and culinary arts.
As for our next steps, we're diving into a project on Mardi Gras. The students will research the history and traditions of Mardi Gras, create masks and costumes, and even plan a mini Mardi Gras parade in the classroom. They'll learn about the significance of colors, the history of the festival, and the cultural celebrations in various parts of the world. It's an exciting way to combine creativity, research, and hands-on activities.
I can't wait to see their enthusiasm and creativity shine through in this new project!”
With gratitude,
