  • Laser on My Finances

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

The printer allows us to put into practice what we are learning about finances, access material and see products that students create in vivid color.

Having a classroom printer and copier is definitively a game-changer for our classroom. We print "paychecks" in the form of "dollars" and each student looks forward to receiving their paycheck. With their money, they make purchases in the classroom store. They also have the opportunity to save for a bigger item. The

Randomly, our store will have a Black Friday sale where things are cheaper than normal. Through all this process, my students are learning about the demands of the markets. They can analyze the market and make decisions about spending.

The printer allows us to put into practice what we are learning about finances, access material and see products that students create in vivid color.”

Thank you so much for your generous offer. This classroom device provided us the opportunity to be flexible and more open with new tools of learning.

Students are able to move in centers and explore various careers in math and science and see the endless possibilities of a future for themselves. The device also serves as an anchor that help facilitate activities for the whole class in more areas.

The computer became a means to a real exploration and a tool for inquiry, observation and research and the more our scholars are using it, the more they are growing into global citizens.”

Thank you so much for your generosity and for making our vision a reality. My students and I are thankful for your gift. We continue to create in style as we learn more about financial literacy and grow our minds and characters along the way.

The tshirts and materials allow us to create unique designs that we sell in the store and make profit. Our profit is reinvested and help us keep the classroom store in business. It also help us celebrate in a special way all the members of our classroom community.

We are very thankful for your help for contributing to our dream.”

My scholars and I are in awe of your generous heart and are so very thankful for your gift. We wouldn't have been able to make it without you. This project is uniquely precious to us because it transformed the life of our clasroom and the culture of our learning environment. We are kinder and brighter because of it.

We earn money and shop on Friday based on our earning. The project, however goes beyond that because it is teaching us financial skills daily. We earn money by completing our work and by displaying citizenship skills around the classroom and the school community.

Thank you for being a partnenr for education and for helping our scholars learn about money while they are still young.”

I am having the most amazing time of my life in the classroom teaching and learning. Yes, most of my students have no interest in taking a second language as they are still struggling with their first language. Yes, most of my students come from a background that didn't prepare them for a traditional classroom where the teacher teach and the students learn. But what they lack in academic readiness, they make up for in attitude. It is my mission to build that attitude into grit and move my students from a proficiency level to another one. In between the 2 proficiency levels, our class is exploring using financial literacy, SEL, jumping, laughter. We are building, creating, researching, speaking, listening, reading, writing and growing. We can only develop into a better version of who we are today by the time we finish our journey and we owe it all to you our donors.
