  • Help! We Can't Hear!

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your support of my classroom. By giving to this project you have provided headphones for each student in my classroom. We are able to have computer or technology time daily where students work on their own using the headphone from this project. It has helped their learning because the online programs we use require students to be able to hear and they LOVE having their own materials. It has also helped the organization in the classroom because the students have their own materials stored and know how to find them. Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Griffin

  • Diverse Books for Diverse Readers

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

I can't thank you enough for your support of my classroom. As we wrap up our first semester the books from this project have had an incredible impact on my students. They are able to read and take home books where the characters reflect their background and look like them. On top of that, my students have been able to learn about different cultures from around the world. These books have come in particularly handy as my team at school also tries to diversify the texts we are using in our read aloud units this year. We were able to use a lot of them during our fairy tale and fable unit to expose them to different versions of popular stories. Thank you for your support. It means the world!”

I cannot thank you enough for your generous support of my classroom! These materials will help us start the year off strong! We can't wait to put them to good use! These items will help our classroom feel organized and comfortable for both the students and teachers. Thank you so very much for thinking of us this school year!”

  • Enrichment Supplies to Enrich Our Days at School!

    Funded Feb 19, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom during this difficult year. Your generosity allowed us to stay safe and have fun in our return to school during the pandemic. My students LOVED the enrichment supplies. They begged to use the slime and playdough at any free moment we had! We made a lot of bracelets and painted pictures to take home to family members and post around our classroom! Aside from the fun you helped us have, we also used the supplies to help keep us safe. I was able to provide individual supply packs for all of my students. This eliminated the need for sharing and kept germs away! Thank you again for your support! I appreciate you!”

  • Materials to Help Us Put Safety First!

    Funded Sep 16, 2020

I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom. Through this project I was able to get supplies that will help keep my students safe when we return to in person learning. Because of your generosity my students will have individualized learning kits to hold all supplies and materials they will use throughout the day.

During this incredibly difficult time it is amazing to have the support I need to keep my children's safety a priority. Thank you for thinking of us and keeping us safe!”

  • Growing a Love of Reading with Our Listening Center!

    Funded Aug 3, 2019

Thank you SO much for your generous donation to my classroom! We are so excited to have new listening center books to enjoy this year! We have already begun using our new books in the first weeks of school and cannot wait to get through all of them as the year continues. Our current favorite book we have been listening to is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! My student's begged me to keep it in the listening center so they could listen for a second time!

In first grade many students are not completely independent readers. It is incredibly helpful for students to hear good reading each and every day as it helps them understand and develop good habits in their own reading. Students are often times able to understand a text much better when it is read to them. Having this library of listening center books will allow my students to practice both of these skills for the majority of the year.

Your generosity has provided my scholars opportunity to develop their love of reading in first grade! We are so appreciative of your support!”

  • Phonics is FUN-damental!

    Funded Aug 3, 2019

Thank you so much for your support of this project! These phonics materials are already being put to good use in the first weeks of school. We love our new whisper phones, power pens, and phonics flip books!

Phonics is a huge portion of first grade reading! Scholars are transitioning from using the pictures to help them sound out words to using letter patterns and phonics rules to help them figure out words they do not know! The phonics materials will be used to enhance my phonics teaching and also used to make reading FUN in our classroom!

I cannot thank you enough for providing my classroom and my students with these amazing materials. Your support means the world!”

  • Writing Tablets Will Help Us Get Feedback!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom! We have been using the writing tablets for so many activities this year! They are one of the most popular activities in my classroom! My student's LOVE working with them!

We have used the tablets for a lot of different things. Mostly they help us in our math lessons when we are practicing problems on the carpet. Having the students use the writing tablets helps me give immediate feedback on how they are solving the problem and what they need support with. It has really helped me ensure that all students are getting the academic support they need!

Thank you again for your support! My students and I appreciate it more than you know!”

  • We Need Books to Take Home to Become Daily Readers!

    Funded Aug 22, 2019

I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom! Your generosity provided books for my scholars to take home and read each night that are on their reading level! These books are used in our class take home book library. They are sorted by level and my students are able to select a quality text that is on their independent reading level every night. The students use these books to read and answer questions as a part of their nightly homework.

While many of my students have books to read at home, the majority of those books are not on their independent reading level. Having a book that challenges them and allows them to work on their reading skills has a huge impact on their growth throughout the year. I have so many parents thank me for providing quality books for them to use at home!

Thank you again for you support!”

  • First Graders Need Tablets to Practice Key Skills!

    Funded Jul 26, 2019

I can't thank you enough for your support of my classroom through your donation to our project. Your support provided my classroom with 6 tablets! My students and I are beyond appreciative!

Technology is a integral part of our society, something that most people use every day! I want to prepare my students by using technology to support learning in our classroom. We will use these tablets mainly during our independent center time. During this time student's work on their own in small groups or with the teacher. It is an amazing time because students are able to get instruction that is tailored to their specific academic needs. When a student is not working with a teacher these tablets will help them continue to grow their brains independently. Before this project I had one tablet in my classroom, so many scholars did not interact with technology daily during this time. I will now be able to structure this time where all scholars interact with some form of technology during this time!

I thank you again for providing this opportunity for my scholars!”

Technology is an important part of learning today. Students must interact with more technology than in years past in order to be equipped for the real-world. Many of my students do not have access to things such as tablets at home. Tablets provide an endless supply of quality apps that students can use to practice reading and math skills. These apps are highly engaging to students and provide individualized learning that helps them become better problem solvers and deeper thinkers. The use of tablets would also allow the teachers in the room to have more focus on their small groups during math and reading so that students can be pushed even further.
