During literacy centers we need iPads for students to practice hand writing, sight words, and listening to stories. The number one way to improve student literacy is to read more to students. If I am able to work with a small group of students and have another small group listening to stories through headphones, I will be able to increase their reading level in Pre-K. We also do monthly literacy testing, and it is hard for 4 year olds to manipulate a mouse on a computer. If they are able to complete their monthly reading progress measures on an iPad we will get accurate data. That is my goal, to love my children and teach them to read.
