  • Wiggle, Wobble, and Learn

    Funded Aug 30, 2019

My students love using the wobble chairs! They are excited every day to have a chance to use the wobble chairs during reading, writing, and math. These chairs help many of my students stay focused during independent reading. Their reading scores have improved greatly thanks to all of that focus! The students even have the chance to sit on the wobble chair when the class is sitting on the rug. This motivates them to listen during all of the lessons. We thank you so much for contributing to our class. These wobble chairs are a great treasure in our classroom that my classes will cherish for years to come!”

  • Full STEAM Ahead!

    Funded Oct 2, 2017

Thank you for donating to our class! The kids LOVE to use the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) kits, the Beebot robot, and the iPad! The kids have been studying coding on the iPad with a program that teaches them simple steps using puzzles. Then, they have the opportunity to apply the same skills to the real robot, Beebot, in our class to make him move around the room. They also use the iPad to watch kid-friendly videos that teach about topics from Science to Social Studies. After, they can take quizzes to test what they learned. They use the STEM kit materials to solve problems, such as what kind of house can the Three Little Pigs build that won't be blown down by the Big Bad Wolf. The kids ask to do these activities all of the time. They are engaged while learning critical skills to be problem solvers in our changing world. Thank you for helping to make that possible!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vigil

  • Growth Mindset Books: The Bridge to Building

    Funded Oct 19, 2017

Thank you again for donating these wonderful books to our classroom! They are encouraging students to read and teaching the students valuable lessons in our classroom. My students love listening to the stories about kids just like them that try their best and never give up! Now when the students have a problem in the class, they go to their new favorite "What Do You Do With a Problem" book to help them figure out a solution. If they have an idea, they love to read "What Do You Do With An Idea" to figure out a plan. They use the "Rosie Revere, Engineer" and "Iggy Peck, Architect books to come up with sketches and designs to put their ideas and plans into action! My students are reading the leveled books every day to become better readers. The students love having a variety of books to choose from. Our book baskets are full thanks to your donation. It is a great feeling for teachers and students when they have piles of books to practice reading! Your donation of these books is truly making an impact with these students and it will make an impact on many more students in the future!”

  • Technology Takeover

    Funded Oct 13, 2016

Thank you for bringing technology and tools to our classroom. The iPads, rekenreks, chair covers and speakers are greatly appreciated. These are all things that we use every day to make learning fun. The students are enjoying learning in a whole new way. They are able to use math and reading apps on the iPads that are at their specific levels to help them learn and practice the skills they need to grow their brains. They use the math rekenrek tools to help them do addition and subtraction math problem solving. The iPad and speakers help to project lessons for all students to see and hear. Students can even share their work with the whole class in an instant by connecting the iPad to our projector. The chair covers are keeping their desks neat and organized. In particular, students that struggled with being interested in school are excited again because of all the new technology and tools in the classroom. They want to do more math problems and read more! Thank you again for your impact on the education of these students.”

    With gratitude,

  • Fuel For the Future Scientists and Mathematicians!

    Funded Oct 6, 2015

I am truly grateful for the donations that have made a huge impact in my classroom. With your help, I have added more technology and tools in the classroom to help students in reading, math, and so much more. I have already seen academic growth that was in part due to these wonderful tools. The Ipad and headphones have been a great way to make reading books at their level even more fun. They are reading more and longer than ever before! They are even more focused when reading their other books, just so they have the chance to read on the iPad or computers with the headphones. I am happy to report great progress in the student reading levels! The math tools have helped students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers. The students love to practice solving problems with their math whiteboards. They even make up their own! Students have had much more practice explaining to their classmates how they solved problems with the giant magnetic ten frames. Every donated item has made an impact on the class and helped make my job in engaging them while teaching that much easier. I cannot express enough how much I appreciate it!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Vigil
